That’s not Sanderson’s job. He did basketball and golf. While technically are both Olympic sports now that’s not what is being referred to as a term in college athletics

Would be weird requirements to replace Sanderson:
- Previous experience working with aquatic-based sports.
- Previous experience working with track & field and cross country.
I would go with the “this is completely unrelated and means nothing about Sanderson.” And remember, something being unrelated doesn’t mean the opposite is true either.
