NIT Preseason Tipoff Pairings are Finally set, and Other Than Duke and Arizona

It is an incredibly weak field. Alabama and Rutgers are the next top two seeds, with really no other decent schools (maybe Rhode Island?) in the field. Off the top of my head, it seemed like last year’s field was much stronger. Michigan, Pittsburgh, Kansas State…among others.

Alabama and Rutgers probably aren’t much worse than Pitt and KSU were last year.

You really think so? Both Pittsburgh and Kansas State was very solid last year, and I don’t think the same can be said for either Alabama or Rutgers. Rutgers was complete garbage last year and after the whole Mike Rice debacle, I’d be surprised if that changes. Alabama could be decent, but having Releford suddenly transfer a few months ago really hurt.
