I think this loss hurts more than a typical tournament loss because I wasn’t ready for this team’s run to be over. If we win, then I go into the next game full well knowing that Gonzaga probably takes us down and it might not be pretty too boot, but I honestly thought we had too much for UCLA to win. I’m not quite sure how that team has won 5 games in a row thus far, they are good but not even close to great.

Crazy takes on the last couple shots there. I love Franz taking that, his air all before that, and the other open shots Michigan missed. There are certainly questions to ask about this game, but NBA players and 40% 3 point shooters missing open looks isn’t one of them. If a guy looks he is a lottery pick, and Juwan can show him he trusts Franz to take the shot to win the game, I think that’s a good mentality to have in the long term.

I think the thing that hurts most is that the expectations changed. I remember BQ said get to the SS and the rest is gravy, well doesn’t feel like that right now. Same with the regular szn

I really feel we were the much better team. We lost to the worst team we’ve played in these last 3 games. And that is hard to swallow.

I can’t think of single shot save Juzang’s slip to the rim for a layup, that wasn’t at least a moderately difficult shot for UCLA. Sometimes sports don’t make sense and the better team doesn’t win, but damn it doesn’t make it any easier to swallow.
