I think UCLA definitely got what they wanted in the first half… gritty play leading to a small lead… and either Hunter Dickinson or Franz Wagner (in this case, Franz) with two…
Mike needs to see one go in the bucket in the worst way. Him making those FTs would’ve been huge for his confidence.
That was so frustrating. He did a great job pushing it upcourt and then couldn’t cash in.
Yeah what’s up with the clear hook and hold not getting called
I need Eli to be better. i expected a return to form after he struggled sunday. gotta have it this second half
He hits those 2, and Eli makes the wide open layup and we’re tied and … well, everyone is probably still acting like the sky is falling, but I’d rather be tied.
Johnny Juzang was 8-of-10 from the floor in the first half.
His teammates went 3-of-18.
Even the NBA don’t play in a football stadium. The players would riot if NBA forced them to play it for the playoff.
The need for Michigan to beat UCLA 1-on-1 due to their switching is something I’ve been concerned about all year even with Livers. Part of the reason I was hoping that Franz could step up and be that guy when needed in those situations. He has the talent but he hasn’t showed that ability with any consistency yet.
When Michigan can move the ball or play inside out they are really really damn good. When they need someone to create a shot off the dribble it’s a different story
I can’t understand how you can look right at it, whistle it a common foul, have Hunter point out that he was being held, and then not even go to the monitor to look. Absolutely baffling.
Also it would be really nice if Wagner could get back on track from 3 this half. That would be huge
Has Hunter ever drawn one of those calls? It’s like they forget the rule for him.
Fantastic take. Couldn’t agree more.
This is the key stat here. If Michigan holds Juzang to 0-10 and his teammates to 0-18 we’re looking at a solid lead here. Just gotta do that in the second half I guess
The key that unlocks that is Hunter, 'cause they can’t guard him 1-on-1.
True. If only he could hang onto the ball…we need early season Hunter to step up here. Eat these guys alive.
Remember guys, we probably looked worse at Wisco earlier this year and were down by 12 at half that game I think. Don’t despair
Know Dickenson didn’t start the game great, but the ball needs to go through the post more. Guards dribbling around the outside is not Michigan’s strength
Well, they can, if the officials “just let them play.” Except for rewarding flops, apparently.
I think he will.
