NCAA 2021: Michigan vs. LSU Open Thread

I feel like UM has had a lot of clean looks… the big issue is with some spacing in the PNR game. When UM runs ball screens, look at how many LSU players are in the paint.

Well, I assume they’re used to that, as bad as their defense is.

If there is only 1 hot hand, can’t we just put Franz on them? As I was typing this out, Franz tipped the shot hahah

Nice Chaundee there. Need him tonight

Need Franz’s and Brown’s length on defense all night. I really don’t think Brooks and Smith can play a lot of concurrent minutes tonight

only way to fix that is hit some 3s and they’ll have to adjust

Franz box and one with Cam

I feel like Chaundee’s first shot tells us a lot about how his night’s going to go. At least I hope so.

Seems like the Chaundee at the 4 lineup is gonna get good looks, but might struggle with Watford

Yeah, honestly, I’m not feeling that bad. They’re making all kinds of 3’s and we’re keeping it close.

I checked this once and it really doesn’t tell us anything haha

Franz is helping on the drives by Thomas, but Eli is still guarding him on perimeter. Would like to see Chaundee just smother Cam on off-ball action.

I may be wrong, but this maybe feels like a game where Davis doesn’t kill you on defense? LSU doesn’t look for matchups, they just shoot.

I think Hunter can score even with all their players in the paint

LOL, I would love to see Michigan roll out a box-and-one. I suspect they probably haven’t practiced it, but who knows?

But it’s about what it feels like, not what it is

Livers would be a great addition to this matchup (obv)

can’t play without a point guard

Franz has got to hit some jumpers

The downside of having a small backcourt is bigger guards can shoot over them. It worked for OSU(Washington) and it’s working for LSU with Cam Thomas. Next year should be less of an issue at SG going forward.
