There are lifelong learners and there are lifelong nonlearners. Both kinds may or may not be hard workers. Jordan Poole and Andre Drummond are in the same category for probably entirely different reasons.
It still amazes me that one day long ago Poole and John Beliein looked at each other and thought they were a good match.
he was on the Jeff Teague podcast recently and he talked about starting an app to train people how to jump higher, but also said he was trying to make a come back to the league. It was funny to me that he thought a vertical jump training app was a novel idea.
There was some company with a similar idea that used to advertise at the beginning of every NBA player highlight video on YouTube. I canāt remember the exact name tho, āBoingVertā or something like that maybe lol.
Lol, I remember begging my mom for the vertical-increasing traning shoes when I was like 14 or 15. I remember seeing these absurd shoes in person at my friends house while watching Nick Van Exel in the NCAA tournament, to date it (Iām old)
Sadly, even at 6ā2" (6ā3" in shoes!), I never threw one down. The closest I came was dunking on an outdoor court by the track outside the CCRB. I believe the rim was only 9ā9". I think I probably couldāve gotten to the promised land if I hadnāt had my 2nd ACL blowout. Or, if Iād been able to get so I could palm the ball.
That was in the 90ās and Iām still a little sad about it.
The basketball hoop I had in the driveway growing up was actually only 9ā-8" when we finally decided to measure it. Led me to believe I was a lot closer to dunking then I actually was at 5ā-9".
