Itās always been insanely weird to me that Silver has been very pro lowering the limit when itās straight up bad for the owners. Iāve always figured this will never happen because itās bad for both the owners and the players union.

I used to care about this, but donāt have a strong opinion anymore. I am annoyed that they donāt have more interesting ideas like draft-and-follow but oh wellā¦short term thinking is popular among people in charge of things.

Who would draft and follow help? And how would that even work in 2 round draft landscape?
I donāt really think anything the NBA has done is really short term. I would say theyāve largely fixed the development cycle and support system with a bunch of smart moves. Two-way contracts, G-League improvements, G-League Igniteā¦ There is so much more infrastructure in place to support young players in the league than there was 10-15 years ago.
