Michigan Non-Revenue Sports 2021-22

A few softball notes:

Sierra Kersten also transferred in the offseason. She wound up at Liberty.

Former Michigan Player/USA Olympian Amanda Chidster joined the staff as an assistant coach.

Most importantly, junior Kaylee America Rodriguez was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago. There are fundraisers set up to help her with her hospital costs: https://extrainningsoftball.com/gofundme-launched-michigan-player-diagnosed-cancer/

I photographed Michigan Field Hockey’s win over Indiana yesterday afternoon. I loved having the background of some fall colors:

It’s been a bit of a down year, but they’ve won 4 in a row, and are now 8-4 on the season (3-2 B1G). They have a big match tomorrow vs. #5 Iowa. I’ll be on the links, likely looking for my ball. But, if you don’t have plans, it should be a fun game to attend.

I learned today that Kevin Garnett’s daughter, Kapri, committed to Michigan for volleyball a few weeks back. She’s a 6’3 outside hitter. He posted from Michigan Stadium during her visit about what an gratifying it was for him because she was, in a way, going to fulfill his own unfulfilled dream of attending Michigan.
