Jaylen Brown - Will Likely Use OV for UM

When does it seem like he will make a decision on where to commit?

April - late signing period. Essentially wants to see rosters/NBA departures of relevant schools before making decision

This spring, after his season ends.

Brown had a huge night…in front of Roy Williams. Have to say Williams is working pretty hard considering he had a game and media requirements no more than 5-6 hours ago.

Brilliant performance by Jaylen Brown tonight. 34 pts, 17 rebs, 5 blocks, non stop effort. Wheeler beats Douglas Co, advances.

Roy Williams and Hubert Davis are here to see Jaylen Brown at a jam packed Wheeler High.

Was at Brown’s game tonight. It was as easy a 34 points as you’ll ever see. Hit 3’s in three straight possessions in the 1st quarter when the game was still competitive and then got most of the rest of his points on offensive put-backs and fast breaks. So much stronger and faster than everyone else, even against pretty good competition.

How bad is it that Brown probably won’t get to see a game on his visit? Will it make the trip less exciting, and hurt Michigan’s chances of landing him?

From everything I’ve read recently, the implication is that Brown is only taking the trip to see family from Muskegon.

Well maybe he will get on campus and change his mind, we can only hope! Would you say North Carolina is the favorite?

He’s on record as saying UNC is his “dream school”. Roy Williams is working hard to get Brown…

New film on Brown. One can only dream…

My God.

Would JB even know what to do with this kid?

Hopefully with all of these UNC allegations he chooses to go somewhere else. Hopefully that place is Michigan.

Not holding my breath…I’ve said if for months the NCAA will give them a slap on the wrist, if anything. Precedent has already been set, it pays to cheat at this point.

“Hope is a good thing Red, maybe the best of things”. I’ll believe the visit when it actually HAPPENS. Like stated many times before, it is an obligatory visit to appease Mom and see family, that’s it. We are NOT a serious player in this recruitment.

Is there some sort of evidence that this is just an obligatory visit to please his mother and visit family, or is this just a personal theory for you? Seems like someone of his caliber wouldn’t mess around with visiting a school if he didn’t have at the least some interest in the school. Just my thought though.

Scout insiders have implied as much

Well if the insiders have implied it then I guess all of my hope is gone.

I’ll say it again - it is the rare recruitment of a top 10 player that is clean. On that basis alone, I really don’t expect us to be in contention for these type of kids, and I don’t think that would really change if we made the next 3-4 Final Fours. Everyone was all up in arms when we weren’t perceived to be a strong player in Josh Jackson’s recruitment. Now the kid has moved to a new prep school in Napa Valley - nothing odd about that - and it sounds like even Kentucky won’t touch him.
