“If I was them, I would return.” In response to whether Franz and Livers should return. Evans just gives his perspective. No claim to insider info for either
That’s hotter than Dylan
It is my understanding that only 1st rounders get one of those? Is that still the case? If so how likely would it be he hears prior to the decision date?
I think last year everyone who was in the first 50 picks got a guaranteed deal
That’s not the case. Wrote about that in the first point here.
Iggy played 1 year and was drafted 47th. Livers may go in the same range, but it’s not a consensus opinion at this point. Iggy put the ball on the floor and finished at the rim often (sometimes too stubborn to kick it out). Scouts saw his potential beyond shooting. I love Livers and do expect him to succeed, but comparing a 3 yr player to a 1 yr and coming out slightly better isn’t really making Livers look more valuable in the NBA, imho.
Livers is a better shooter than Iggy, but he’s nowhere close to being as good at getting to the basket or being a better scorer overall.
Iggy joined a good and experienced team and led them in scoring, under a coach who can be hard on freshmen. He hit 40% from 3, finished strong through contact and drew fouls at double the rate Livers managed as a junior. He’s a true scorer who puts a lot of pressure on the defense. Livers can carve out a role in the NBA, but his ceiling doesn’t compare to Iggy’s.
I think Iggy is the better all around player but I really think Livers has the chance to be an elite 3 point shooter and that might possibly set them apart. On the other hand, Iggy’s all around game where he is good at everything but not great at any one thing could set him apart.
Good points but I think the three ball in the NBA is valued much more than getting to the rim and finishing. Though it’s of value the trend in the NBA is outside the arc. I also think Livers has more versatility on the defensive end and has better lateral quickness. Iggy was also older for a Freshman and I think he had to go…no upside staying in AA and he already had a mans body. Liver’s is still growing into his.
Livers is 6 months older than Iggy.
We have read a lot of comments about Livers because he stated that he was going to enter the NBA draft process and likely wait until the last couple days to decide whether he will stay in the draft or come back to school.
Do we know yet the date he will need to make his decision?
What about WAGNER? This forum seems to assume he will be coming back to school but we have heard nothing.
Has Wagner refused to talk with any reporters or coaches like Livers has done? Is there any date in place by which Wagner has to decide if he is entering the draft process or not?
I’m pretty sure we’re all assuming Franz will return.
The deadline to return to school is June 3rd, for now. That could change if the NBA Draft process is adjusted somehow due to COVID-19.
Wagner has not announced anything about his NBA decision. Isaiah Livers spoke to the media after he declared for the NBA Draft, not before.
Well looks like timelines will be changing at least a bit.
Knowing the NCAA I’m not sure that’d make them change their timeline at all.
Moves the draft but not necessarily anything to do with the NCAA dates.
Right, logically it maybe should but also with the NCAA it probably won’t.
Well, at some point it doesn’t really matter when the draft is. If there’s not going to be a combine, I don’t really see the point in moving the dates. You can’t go until August with the pre-draft process. Eventually guys have to just decide.
