Game 9: Iowa at Michigan Open Thread

Hats off to Garza. Thought he got away with a little bit, but elite finishing around the basket when you consider how dominant Teske has been.

This would’ve been a blowout if Garza didn’t play as well.

Think we’ve got a lot of wildcards to up our ceiling (Franz and Johns).

I get tired of officiating complaints–see mgoblog–but Brando and Jackson deserve any ridicule they get. You know “McCaffrey is the smartest guy on the court”.

M beats ken pom again.

Brando still thinks Livers hit the game winner against Houston.

103-91 in a 74 possession game.

Raise your hand if you predicted Johns and Davis would post career scoring highs tonight…

Ah, MichiganMan2424 beat me to it.

Reminds me of Lurch from Adams Family

Well he is wearing #2 now.

Can you guys help me out? Was I just watching with M&B goggles on? Because that sure seemed like the most one sided officiating for 35 minutes I’ve seen a team suffer through on their home floor that I’ve seen in a long time. I was incensed during that game.

Look above they don’t want to hear about the officials.

LOL, I saw that after I posted and that’s not gonna stop me. I thought the officiating was noteworthy. There were a lot of close calls and it seemed like they all went one way for 35 straight minutes. I also think Garza is intentionally irresponsible with his limbs and that should have been a flagrant.

I thought the refs flat out kept Iowa in the game and threatened to tilt the game away from the clearly better squad (us).

It’s just lame, that’s all. Every thread is full of whining. What’s the point?

It’s not lame, if it notably changes the game.

Literally, Iowa’s only chance in that game was foul trouble on Teske and Z.

Those guys were on the wrong side of 50/50 calls all night.

There were a crap ton of Iowa fouls that weren’t called. I thought it was really bad - like, unusually bad.

look at the positive side that we still won comfortably, and Davis and Johns got extended playing time. Love what I saw tonight, Johns looked like a complete player and fought with everything he had, and Davis looked like that he deserves the 5th year.

I was at the game. Lower bowl in particular was sparse at tip off. The arena, oops Center, was mostly full ten minutes in. The crowd felt pretty lively for most of the game.

As stated earlier what’s the point of whining about whining? Just pay it no attention and retain what you want.

Yeah, I never get categorical condemnation of officiating comments. If the calls are bad then it’s worthy of comment. Maybe Mith missed the first half–some poor calls about which there was considerable consensus here. Talk about the game that actually takes place and say what you feel. As if officiating isn’t a factor in plenty of contests? Nonsense.
