Game 28: Michigan State at Michigan Open Thread

It’s not chicken little to critique this team for being predictably inconsistent. Hell, we may very well go into their place and have our way with them…but we’ve seen the holes in this team, and this game had it on display.

For the most part, Winston has been letting the game come to him the entire game. He had a few forced plays but really played under control today.

Belein needs to take some of the blame imo

What’s to argue about? We didn’t play well and Michigan State came into our house and beat our ass. You have to give them credit. The only guy on the floor that looked like an NBA player is Cassius Winston.

I just do not like the flow of the offense in this game, and for the most part long stretches of many of our last 10 played.

Teams have adjusted to what we were doing early in the season now we need to make adjustments to counter.

Tonight that did not happen.

Going to be interesting if Michigan ends up sliding down to #5 and playing on Thursday in Chicago. Very real possibility now.

Too much emphasis on Winston. Poor plan.

Man did State clamp down defensively in the last 12 minutes. Totally outplayed us. Offense completely befuddled.

The Angry Gnome is going to be insufferable now.

At the end of the day we went cold offensively after going up 51-45. You can talk about toughness and whatnot but you’ve just got to put it in the basket.

Which sucks because now we’ve got to pony up too much $$$ for good seats on Session 2.

Gotta make extra passes and find the right points to attack. Teske had a ton of instances in the 2nd half where he had Mcquaid, Winston or Henry on him and didn’t get a touch

Yeah that’s rough if you already bought tickets. Still probably going to play on Friday but might NEED one of the two road games now to avoid Thursday, obviously at Maryland does it.

From a stats perspective Winston and Simpson have played respectably even, but Winston has used fewer possessions than normal and Simpson has used far more than normal. I don’t think that was the script for success, even if we pull this out.

That’s pretty consistent. We never attack switches with Teske…Except in the first half of this game when we exploded offensively.

Hey Jordan! Thanks for taking one within 2 feet of the line.

Iggy had it going then and then got taken out. no?

He missed a dagger 3 that would have put us up 9.

Did Glen Rice ever take contested 25-footers?

Jordan, where was this the first 38 minutes of the game?

I would love to think that U-M has given me any indication they can beat a good team on the road. They haven’t. Iowa-Wisconsin may let me know what I need to invest in.
