Was at MSG couple weekends ago and it was all scarlet. Will be at the RAC on Wednesday and expecting it to be next level. Their fans gave them deafening standing O’s when they cut 20 point Mich leads down to 15 in the last few years, now they have a ton to cheer about. Glad we have senior leadership - will need it!
That win was sexier than the Shakira and J-Lo shake! Go Blue!
He suffered an ankle injury and briefly went to the locker room, but returned and played a couple of minutes. He looked slightly gimpy out there but seems not to be too hurt. In the handshake line it looked like Indiana guys were asking him about it because he seemed to be saying “I’m OK” to them.
Go win in the RAC and you’re probably gonna get the single-bye. I think we’re gonna do it.
Hey, if they get into unfortunate foul trouble in the tournament, I’m fully confident in Bajema offensively if need be!
Johns was really impressive. Just seemed to always make the right decision, when to pass, when to drive and pass, when to take it all the way and try to finish through contact and when to take that corner 3. Plus his aggressiveness on the boards.
Nice to have 3 players off the bench who can all come in and make big contributions. Johns played a terrific game. That corner 3 has been money for him and he was aggressive at drawing fouls. Davis continues to finish well around the basket. DeJulius only had one bucket but he seems much more confident in running the team and making good decisions and finding open teammates.
I’m impressed with how good Davis’ hands are. He catches everything, even far from his body, even with one hand, and rarely bobbles. That really makes it easier to score.
Anybody have a link for a replay? or at least the most comprehensive highlights?
CBS streaming app has 2 mins worth of highlights.
Cole Bajema isn’t just a good shooter, he’s a great shooter…and deep. He has actually shown that he can put it on the floor a bit, too. And for a rather lanky 6’7 freshman who didn’t play particularly good competition in high school his defense is not horrible. Honestly, based on everything I’ve seen from the kid, and granted I’m not in practice, he’s probably ninth man, or at least the ninth best player in the rotation. If I’m Juwan Howard I’m recruiting the heck out of Cole Bajema to stay at Michigan!
Agreed!
And I think I spy Bajema chosen to lead the team with The Victors today:
His teammates went crazy when he made that deep three. I think they’ve embraced him, at least I hope so. It can be a bit tough being a freshman 2300 miles away from home, and well, hopefully he feels like an important member of the Michigan family. A lot of guys could have led the Victors today, but it was probably really special for Cole Bajema!
Edit: And that smile on his face says it all!
Cole is originally from Michigan and grows up as a Michigan fan.
His family lives in Washington, but you’re right. He probably has some family in Michigan. I know he took a trip home (to Washington) over Christmas. I’ve had a few kids go away. Not easy being away from mom’s cooking!
They lived in Grand Haven at some point and his mother was a star athlete at Calvin College. He was always a Michigan fan.
