My big concern is i don’t believe that the portalbis the answer. It has to be for Juwan but you need guys to transfer out. Are they getting juniors or seniors? If its seniors you may have the same issue the next year. For the team to be good their best players need to be on this current roster.
They would be in position for a top pick in the lottery get Wembanyama or Henderson.
10-11.

They have to make some drastic changes to try and salvage something this year. There has to be a change in pick and roll defense and ditch the 3-2 zone. The starting 5 also has to change. Too many games they start flat. The games they do start well fall apart as soon as they rotate 2-3 bench guys into the game.
Do you think the team just shuts down?
There are wayyyy more games where they fall flat in the middle third of the first half than the first third.
Yes.
Hoobity hoobla
Ok fair but if jett isnt on fire today or at Iowa, they are down double digits very early. At maryland was a flat start too
Changes I’d like to see:
Will Tschetter starting lineup - good offensive efficiency, high energy player.
Tarris Reed more PT, roll Dickinson more at the 4 - Reed is a better rim protector and rebounder, Dickinson as a stretch 4 is more realistic for his NBA prospects…
The offense is very stagnant, a lot of 1 on 1 with Jett Howard and no cuts/sets/or running the offense through McDaniel. That combined with poorer outside shooting has made their offense look unremarkable.
This is the worst ranked Michigan Defense via Kenpom metrics in the past 10 years?
Feels very reminiscent of the Manny/DeShawn losing season. Things may spiral. My gut says there are plenty of different motivations and toxicity within this roster that aren’t going away until the players themselves do
This is where I’m at. Any status quo is futile.
Dickinson cannot play in the NBA. He can’t guard anyone at that level. Him as a stretch 4 in the league would be an unmitigated disaster.
Worst defense in the past 782 years. Roughly.
Two of my thoughts exactly.
Or start reed and more will bench minutes.
One issue we have is we have 4 guys who’s best skill set involves having the ball in their hand and creating.
Caleb Houston fits much better with this group than Jett for example .
Start reed and let him run the on ball screen and have Hunter play the kick out weak side where Terrance is and rain threes or crash the glass,
Go full twin towers and consider starting baker and bring Kobe, Jett, or dug off the bench with will and khayat.
The ball is too sticky with the current group and when it’s not it’s Williams who’s open on the kick out normally.
It wouldn’t have stopped this result
But I’m pretty salty Tschetter wasn’t in the rotation.
Sends such a horrible message
Feels to me like the two dead spots are the four minutes before the first TV time out and then from 8 to 4 minutes. I don’t know if the data would back me there but it feels like they’re equally dangerous.
I mean, I’d say the score generally reflects the comparative quality of looks the teams got
This wasn’t better shooting/worse shooting etc - they got good looks, we took multi dribble non-rim twos and threes
Start Reed, start Tess Cheddar.
The starting five wins it’s minutes in the majority of games. I know people are salty, but there’s no evidence to suggest the starters as a unit are a problem. They were today, but every unit was a problem today
Also, why did the fans keep chanting “over rated” at us?
