Offense just needs to be more confident. Way too indecisive when we get an open shot. On defense, president president need to actually play some.

I’ve thought this all year. I just said it out loud today. Matthew’s was a elite defender. I think Brown is above Avg. Just imo of course.
Ford the unaccounted x-factor so far, clearly. Brooks coming up short. . .
Wisconsin’s defense was excellent, setting aside the complaints to about the layoff or anything. We had like 2-3 easy shots.
Some of this performance isn’t surprising. Attention to detail giving away on fouling jump shooters and OOB plays cost them probably 12 points. Ironically they are down 12 points at half but they can make a comeback it starts with absolutely stapling Davis to the bench. See what happens first 10-12 mins of the half get more from Brooks,Brown,Smith,Wagner maybe just a couple of those guys and hope Johns can spell Dickinson at times because Davis can’t do it.
To be fair, passing out of open threes is something of an Eli hallmark.
This is what I expected. UM offence is rusty and Wiscy found theirs. Wiscy has looked terrible on offense for at least two weeks. Not to day
Matthews was off-the-chain great; I don’t hold that against Brown.
Really just concerned thinking about the rest of the season. Dont care about this game. With so many games back to back now it’s easy to see us never getting back to form. Plus we have absolutely no herd immunity to this stupid virus.
The key for the next month is really to get back up to good form by the end of the year IMO. Obviously you want to win the Big Ten but this season will be judged on March. Going to need reps to get it back… Need to find confidence over the next few weeks.

I agree with that. Isn’t a bad on Brown. Matthews was just another level.

Also… Wisconsin is not the team to face to find your flow offensively… They are the best defense in the league other than U-M. Pretty much a clinic defensively in that first half.

I mean…Michigan is only down 12 after a horrible defensive half.
12 points against Wisconsin is 20 against a normal team. 12 at halftime in general is a lot

If you’re freaking out right now, just google ‘over-reaction’ and ‘victim mentality’. That’s not what champions are made of. The players are playing disconnected, it’s expected. You’ve seen one half of basketball, and clearly everyone is rusty except Livers shooting. Working back into the normal offensive flow, getting connected on defense, it’s going to to take game reps. Would rather play against a good team than a bad team, honestly, because it gives a more honest evaluation of what’s broken & needs fixing. Have patience…
