I donāt really see how pursuing Tillman or not would have to do with Wagner. Michigan has 3 scholarships open and needs players. It isnāt like thereās one spot.

While I donāt know the answer, I can certainly think of reasons why the two might be connected. It might be that Michigan feels comfortable with 11 (including Wagner) and some spots left for a big class next year. It might be that bringing in another 6ā7" kid, and one who has proven himself in college to boot might spook Wagner. I agree that Michigan could, and in my mind, likely should, go after both, but theyāre seemingly not going hard after Tillman, and if the staff isnāt very confident that Wagner is coming (assuming he qualifies), it seems likely that we would be beating down the door for Tillman, since everyone agrees that we need at least 1 more guy on the roster for next year.

I just assume the recruitment of Donnie Tillman has more to do with what Michigan thinks of Donnie Tillman. He doesnāt play any where near the same kind of role that Franz would be playing, but I guess they could be trying not to scare off Franz, just seems a bit like wishful thinking to me.
The larger point that I was trying to make is that even if Michigan was holding off on Tillman until it heard about Franz, it wouldnāt necessarily mean good news. Or bad news for that matter.

I feel like the longer this has gone, the more optimistic I am with him coming to Michigan. If he wanted to stay at Alba, wouldnāt he have already committed to stay with them following Sunday? Could this wait just be an academic office/admissions thing?
