In the case of Nik, he showed that he wasn’t an NBA caliber player long before the Sixers. OTOH, he played for probably the worst NBA franchise (at the time) in Sacramento.

well players can’t choose their organization so that’s not an option. Also Thon Maker got drafted by Milwaukee (not a bad org), Bender was just awful, Okafor was drafted by the 76ers which were not bad for developing players at all, he was also just bad and not a fit for the modern game and an awful pick
Zeb was still a top 100 recruit and has good size/athleticism. I can’t imagine he would transfer to a MAC school when he’d be able to get minutes on some lower level P6 teams.

we don’t know yet that he can’t get minutes on a high level P6 team–including Michigan.
