Probably because JL has played about a hundred college games. This is Dugā€™ first and they know, not only is he good but theyā€™re gonna need him to be! But yeah ā€¦he good!

It was positional. They played Jace at the 4 first, but they also played Tschetter at the 4 and Baker at the 4.

Things I like:

  • Jett showed things against a ā€œrealā€ defense that Caleb didnā€™t show in practice. Not trying to knock Houstan (wellā€¦much) just that Jett has more diversity to his game and we will need it without Eli.
  • Dug looks just as fun as Frankie ever was and perhaps more ready to play. I know it is Ferris, but I didnā€™t notice his height and thatā€™s a compliment.
  • I had hopes Baker could have some real upside. I think he will be fine as a small minute shooter still, but thoughts of >15 minutes were dashed watching him get cooked by Ferris players.
  • Reed is bigger than I thought. I had heard some chatter about him being a little short for a center but he seems to have plenty of size for the B10.
  • I am telling myself not to get too happy about how Kobe looks.

Big half for Jett, Kobe and Dug obviously. Way too easy for Jett to get that shot off, going to be dangerous. Heā€™ll win Michigan ganes with it but might shoot Michigan into some tricky pots sometimes.

Thought Bufkin looked about as good as you could expect. Did a bit of everything, had some good moments on D.

Dug was awesome obviously. Iā€™m not particularly worried by Jaelinā€™s quiet first half. Had a great take in transition and a nice PNR find.

Thought that U-M not really getting into any offense for the first 8 minutes or so was a bit weird but :man_shrugging:

I would play Tarris a ton in the second halfā€¦ gotta get him up to speed.
