To be honest, I feel like City might have been eliminated outright in the old format.

Geez, Zach Steffen showing out in goal tonight. I had sort of written him off from USMNT.

I mean as bad as this season is going, I can always take solace in not supporting Chelsea.

How do you drop that much cheddar in the past couple of years building up that team and end up with Robert Sanchez as your primary keeper?

Oh great, another sport for City to ruin! @umhoops

Congrats on the W, and extreme pettiness. Man City’s season ended in the first meeting between these two teams though :sob:

Finishing second the year City unravel might end up stinging though…

It might sting, but the downfall of my enemies is always better than our own success

This next run of fixtures is insane. Shout out to pretty much everyone around us for dropping points this week. I have little faith in West Ham to keep the flow going tomorrow, but that could’ve been a disaster of a weekend and just ended up being another mildly disappointing result in a season full of them.

This is genuinely weird behavior from a club that hasn’t won anything significant in like twenty years.

Ederson is NOT him

It’s the same match over and over again this season.

Definitely need to upgrade keeper this summer. Ortega is not the guy either, but time to ship Eddie off to Saudi while he is still worth something.

Why did he come for that? Usain Bolt wouldn’t have got there.

That wasn’t even his worst play of the last 5 minutes of the match, he chest saved across the center of goal dropping a beautiful assist to Brahim. Just insane stuff from him towards the end.

Ederson has always been Ederson, but City’s midfield is just a disaster right now. Madrid dominated that entire game really. It would have been a very generous result for City to win that 2-1.

Obviously no Rodri, defensive injuries, but Kova, Gundo, KDB, Bernardo are all just shells of what they were a couple years back.

City that can’t control the ball in the midfield … isn’t really City.

You’ll never convince me Rodri didn’t really earn that Ballon D’or after watching this year. Was covering up for more than I could have ever imagined.

I’ll trade you 2 midfielders for two wingers to finish out the season Dylan. How about Jorginho and Zinchenko. Young spry guys like them should help you control the ball.

Deserve or not deserve, you’re up 2-1 in the home leg in the 85th minute. Your goalkeeper can’t throw the ball into the net twice to lose that leg. Madrid didn’t deserve anything in 2022 but they won over two legs against city. I mean it’s happened all year to City but that was brutal

Oh, of course, it was brutal, but throwing a game away when you actually play well is still worse. It’s also not the first time it has happened this year. I just don’t think Ederson is the entire problem at all, despite the errors.

Even if City went through 2-1 in that leg, I would have had zero confidence in the next leg. If anything, maybe playing from behind could help them

3.42 to 1.6 xG, 20 shots to 11, 6 big chances to 2. City scored one of their 2 goals on a penalty on the border of the box. They got dominated IMO.

Ederson has spent his career charging out when he shouldn’t or taking an extra touch in the box that scares you to death, but that equalizer was just a really poor play.

Agree on City looking 2nd best that entire match though. Watching them bunker down at 1-0 hoping to hold for 45 minutes was certainly something.

At his best, his questionable shot stopping was more then compensated by his feet, his passing which was the key component of city building out from the back. Whatever this version is as liability. And yes, the midfield is a giant donut but one of your leaders and anchor in the back can’t have the season he’s had this year
