Playoff overtime hockey is IMO the most stressful sporting event ever invented

I don’t know if he’s in the Harden/Embiid realm just yet but he’s gaining ground.

Yeah was just seeing if there was anyone like me who’d rather watch kings / oilers with no rooting interest rather than NBA lol I agree with you

Not in this thread. Another year of no Red Wings = casual NHL viewing and not when good playoff basketball is happening.

True maybe asking in the NBA thread was a bad place to start lol

Thibs says Brunson isn’t getting the calls Cade gets…

I think they said that Brunson drew 12 fouls on the Pistons.

Avs goalie just made an all time clutch save

Dude everyone is standing, no one is seated. Really good look for the Stars crowd

Crazy that KAT didn’t even attempt a shot in the 4th. I felt like he was quiet but I didn’t think he was that quiet.

I thought Tobias was really good actually. He had 15pts/13rebs on pretty efficient shooting and played 43 minutes, literally putting KAT in the corner because he got sick of putting in effort.

I’m done with this team. Coughing up game 1 was bad enough, but this is just outright ridiculous. No heart, no fight, no skill, no cohesion, no effort, no trust, what an embarrassment. The longest playoff losing streak in history continues in the most embarrassing way possible. I mean how do you even manage to not score a single point IN THE FREAKIN NBA, YOU HAVE 48 MINUTES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!! For the first time in awhile I’ve started investing my time in following Detroit sports and the Pistons had the best story going after the Red Wings fizzled out, so I thought why not, let’s see how far they go. But this? Really? Absolutely pathetic. This is going to be a clean sweep no matter what, because there’s no fight left in these Pistons. Cade is a fraud, Schroeder is the worst trade in NBA history, JB needs to go back to high school JV coaching. This entire roster are basketball terrorists and should never see a basketball court again. I’m moving my fandom to Washington, where they know how to build a REAL basketball team (And totally not overpay guards that get injured constantly).

I think Kawhi is probably the best post-LeBron player other than Jokic right

Not in terms of career accomplishment obviously due to all the injury but if I could get a guarantee of health for one game, he’s gotta be the guy. He’s absolutely better than like Durant.

When he’s on he’s like the only guy you don’t need to run action or anything for - just tossing endless middies after four dribbles into the hoop against literally anyone. There are few defenders better physically gifted to handle him than Aaron Gordon - but, nope! Sorry buddy!

Also how is Zubac not all defense

Also, completely different subject - the Pistons getting Schroder for basically free (they only gave up KJ Martin in that five-teamer?) is pretty awesome.

Nate went back and watched all twelve whistles Brunson got, and determined four of them were ā€œactual basketball playsā€

They land on wishing the NBA called these the way FIBA did, and then conclude ā€œif the refs call a game in a fashion that angers Brunson, Embiid, and Austin Reaves, they’re probably doing the right thing.ā€

When did the Pistons have this before? … Dennis Rodman!

That was a different era though

Ausar also has a lot of talent at that end (he was playing PG minutes when Cade was out). The jumper being broke is just a huge problem. If that can get to plausible, he probably has all-star glue guy sort of upside

Yeah:

  1. Rodman couldn’t carry the minutes on a successful team today without his skillset evolving with the times.

  2. Ausar is obviously not the rebounder Rodman was (nobody is) but I think has a way broader set of skills, albeit with one serious glaring flaw.

The Pistons did not run good offense in game 2 - they defense was much improved, and part of that was just Thibs’ incredibly lack of offensive imagination outside of ā€œspam Jalen Brunsonā€ (why is KAT there again?)
