Liked Jefferson’s clips on the Pistons defending Brunson. He has been foul hunting and so far not getting them.
Ausar as a Brunson defender in particular is intriguing to me.
Some of these JB lineups are confusing to me tho. Harris and Beasley kind of can’t come off the floor given their shooting.

IMHO the thing that pops watching the Pistons is the team D. Everybody is committed to defending Brunson the right way, lots of multiple efforts. Amazing how much making a good hire matters on that end.

Am I wrong that JB should’ve been resting Cade earlier so he’s in for basically the whole 4th? There’s nobody else to drive offense on this team.
He came out with 2:45 left in the 3rd and started the 4th. Not sure if there’s a right answer.

JB is obviously getting these guys to overachieve but the stuff he’s doing out of timeouts and high leverage inbounds isn’t good enough.
Think Hardaway has been a big problem, don’t think he can close. Prefer Ausar.

Played their @sses off for 3 quarters and then they played like a team that has never been in the playoffs before, which of course, is exactly what they are. I’m hoping that Jalen Brunson’s mild ankle roll swells up like my face after getting stung by 50 bees.
The good news, the pistons looked like they belonged for about 36 minutes. The bad news, the game is 48 minutes long. Fourth quarter playoff basketball is different, have to learn from it and be ready to close the next opportunity. Pistons lost a chance to steal a road win, but I’m still encouraged after that one. They can play with the knicks, but Cade has to be better and I think he will have a big game two.

Doncic is awesome. The trade was stupid. But if you’re not a Doncic believer, lots of those reasons were on display - the constant complaining to the point he’s missing defensive possessions being at peak level last night

Also I’m on the verge of putting Morant on my “just doesn’t have this level of play in him” list. In this case, I blame his decision to change his playstyle to save his durability, he’s just nothing like the same guy. Dort is an awesome defender but if Ja is going to let him off the hook by shooting pull-up jump shots he’s not helping.
