Detroit Pistons & NBA Talk

Hawks have been trying to trade him for like 3 seasons now. Not a great fit basketball wise, the personality stuff is overblown as if that side were bad enough he’d be gone. I’m not a huge fan of his but he’s a solid player. much much better than Bagley

If we didn’t already have Alec Burks, I’d be more interested in adding TIMMAY.

However, I’d instantly love having him on the Pistons. I just don’t think he really fills a need.

It would still probably be a worthwhile trade, just to get that 10th pick.

There’s literally nothing like mgl’s vendetta against Marvin Bagley.

It’s ….chef’s kiss… the most dedicated hatred towards a role player with a middling contract I’ve ever seen.

What I don’t get is why Marvin’s literal clone in Wiseman escapes mgl’s ire. Marvin’s catching all the heat.

I’d give JimmyWise a slight edge, because of his age and being 2 inches taller. They are very similar, though. I think one has to go because they are redundant.

Yeah, well the trade wouldn’t be made to get Timmy. He is just a throw in for salary purposes. Not a bad thing to get a contributor where a salary dump is concerned though. Obviously it’d be all about adding a second top 10 pick.

Plus Timmy and Burks could be decent trade candidates at the deadline next year.

Oh he definitely hates Wiseman too. Wiseman hasn’t been in Detroit long enough to accumulate the same mgl hate track record as Bagley though. Plus he is on a rookie deal and the Pistons didn’t sign him for additional years (yet).

That said, Wiseman has taken plenty of mgl heat from the second the trade was made.

Funny season is almost upon us

He doesn’t! I said it was a sh*t trade!

Bogey and Luka are good friends. Bogey and Cory Joseph were also the only players not at Monty’s press conference yesterday.

Wouldn’t read too much into Bogey not being there. Probably just tending to Jokic’s horses.

Bogey is almost definitely not in the US as he’s getting ready for FIBA Worldcup.

In (sort of) related news, the oldest living Pistons discussion board has gotten a facelift.

Giovany, at this time last year, put out a rumor of Pistons/Hornets trade involving Hayward. While it did not materialized, the trade did happen which paved the way for Weaver to trade up for Jalen Duren on draft day trade.

I’m thinking Weaver might be targeting #10 by dangling Bogey to the Mavs for a certain prospect if he’s there. Who does he like? We don’t know. I’m assuming that Whitmore at #5 is happening so #10 is a wildcard. If they managed to get Whitmore and Hendricks after draft night, I would be naked.

Seems like there is no shot of either being there at 10 right?

I simply don’t see why the Mavs would take any of these trades that are being speculated? They all seem like a Pistons fan’s wet dream.

They need defense and Bogs is a 34 year opd shooter who does nothing to solve that problem.

Givony is saying Bufkin might go 8th or 9th on ESPN tonight. So, Hendricks could fall to 10 in that scenario.

We should go for Anthony Black. It seems like every scouting report on this guy goes something along the lines of ‘he is a literal genius on both sides of the ball, on of the most big brained players I’ve ever seen and he’s a super athlete’

The problem is the fit with Detroit but he seems like such a safe pick, and one that has a really high ceiling. He doesn’t shoot well and he’s a PG but Detroit is still in the process of hauling assets and Black seems like he will absolutely hit it big at the next level. Pretty much Josh Giddey is what I’m hearing.

Somebody unexpected with go top 10. One of Walker, Hendricks, Ausar, or Black will be there at 10.

Because Giovany is well connected and is putting it out there.

Mavs offense is bad outside of Luka and Bogey gives them shooting and spacing that Luka needs. I can see them going for Bogey to win now. It’s all speculation that is fueled by Giovany.

Not sure why they would go for Black when he’s a PG and they already have Cade and Jaden as their lead creator. Black is a very good prospect but his biggest swing skill is shooting. Not sure if he’s a roster fit unless you think he’s a SF with defensive abilities.
