He better not be playing next season. He’s been awful and the fans finally realized that he is who he is. A non-athletic G who can’t shoot or dribble to his right. Playing him would essentially mean it’s 4 on 5 for the Pistons. Casey better not play him unless Cade and Jaden are in foul trouble and/or hurt.
I hated the pick at the time and was gaslit by the fans that Hayes will be good(and he just need time). He had plenty of time and chances. He stinks out loud.
Next year, the G rotation should be Cade, Jaden and Burk. Hayes can sit at the end of the bench until his contract is up.
I know this one pistons fan that still loves Killian and is always saying great things about him
Oh Hayes will play, unless they draft Scoot
Whenever people discuss a top ten pick PG’s defense you know you’re in trouble
Hayes has made his last stand. It’s done. Some other Troy Weaver will give him another shot presumably.
That OKC backcourt of SGA and Jalen Williams is gonna be scary
Giddey is a fun 3rd wheel and if Chet sticks…that’s a good team
Is Giddey a starter or a spark plug off the bench?
Starts every game
Needs to shoot better
Sorry … not now. Is Giddey a starter in your future playoff Thunder?
If he can push the threes from 33% to 35/36% and up volume, I think he’s great - a+ passer, good defender
If Chet sticks that’s huge, not sure if he’s a 4 or 5. If he’s a 5, you can use Poku as a stretch 4 and the pressure off Giddey’s shooting a little
My estimation of them really is that I think SGA is going to be All NBA Tbis year, and may be a first teamer in the future. Best young guard in the league
OKC still has like ten first round picks, right? They will be able to fill in around the edges via trade or whatever.
Livers missed boxing out on the game-winning tip-in tonight. Good for the tank, bad for him.
Now, why Jalen Duren, their best rebounder, wasn’t in…well, I guess that was good for the tank too.
Two win lead w six games to go — sitting pretty! Hate the adjusted lottery odds right now.
That putback was definitely not Livers’ fault, FWIW
Was it on Cory Joseph for not crashing down? Or the bigs for both being on the other side of the rim?
last year, these two teams played at a similar time of year and the game was a farce, with neither team playing anything approaching a real player. This year, the Pistons are still trying for the worst record, and OKC is on the fringe of the playoffs, oldest rotational player like 24, and winning without their All-NBA guard.
Looking at OKC and Orlando have me feeling some trepidation about the arc of the Pistons rebuild.
I think you’re right to be feeling nervous, but Cade’s injury sort of throws off the equation a bit. I think next season there needs to be legit progress toward at least an Orlando-level fringe playoff berth with whoever they pick this year, a healthy Cade, second-year Duren/Ivey, etc.
Hard to compare with OKC, who had a star to auction off for picks to get things started. And I agree about Cade. I know many feel uneasy about Cade, but I don’t. I think he’s going to be what we want him to be. I think the biggest thing is whether BPA in the draft coincides with positional fit or overlaps. I get that you probably have to take Scoot at 2 and figure it out later, but I think if there are trades needed you’re not getting back full value. It would be so wonderful if either we just got Wemby or if down the road we ended up with one of Miller or Walker being BPA anyways.
