Detroit Pistons & NBA Talk

He’s going to be involved in the KD trade.

Pistons still 8.4mil under the cap. And they have a ton of expiring contracts. A lot of flexibility if they want to make a deal at the deadline.

Keegan Murray looking good so far. 10-13. 26 pts. 4-5 from 3. Versatility on display here:

I think the nets have explicitly said he’s not what they want.

I think it’s clear the 8th best center in the NBA is not worth what he (or most on this board?) thought.

I think the Durant trade offer request changed everything.

They’re probably trying to figure out a way to get this done and send Ayton back that way or to a third team if uninterested in him themselves.

People might be ok with not getting Ayton. I’m not particularly happy with the possibility of Stew/Bagley/Noel/Duren/Olynyk trying to guard him.

Duren is going to be a very good defender in time. I’m not really concerned about him or anyone guarding him this year or next as Pistons won’t be - or really trying to be - a real contender during that time.

Couple years ago, central division looked like a mess. Now, I think each team is in a solid spot. Though other than the Bucks, I don’t think any of them are serious title contenders. Hard because everybody but the Bulls are small market teams.

This destroys the ability to use him in a KD trade as well right? He can no longer be S&T’d and he won’t be tradeable until December I think once signed

Guess he hasn’t signed it yet, so S&T could still happen (Ayton for Turner +?). But if the Suns let him go for nothing……I would think that Booker isn’t there long term.

The Phoenix Suns have 48 hours to match the largest offer sheet in NBA history.

I believe that means it’s been signed.

Hasn’t signed it yet. Just agreed to sign it at some point soon (probably tonight or tomorrow). Then the 48 hours kicks in IIRC

Drafting a guy number 1 overall, him turning out to be a good player on a team that goes to the Finals, only to let him go for nothing.

Sarver you’re as dumb as you are p.o.s. but because there’s evidently fans who absolutely hate the fact that NBA players get paid money they will side with the owner no matter what. If they don’t match at least in order to do a S&T, they’re a completely broken franchise.

Where are you seeing that he hasn’t signed it yet? Woj tweet seems to imply the 48 hours are now ticking

From Woj’ article on ESPN Phoenix Suns' Deandre Ayton signing 4-year, $133M maximum contract offer sheet with Indiana Pacers, agents say

They’ll have to do a S&T before matching the offer sheet. If they match it, they can’t trade him. So they’d have to figure out a S&T before Ayton officially signs the offer sheet. Once the offer sheet is signed, trade is out of the question

Still not really seeing anything that says it hasn’t been signed. “Is signing” is the term used which I guess It would mean the Nets and Suns would have to agree to a trade in a matter of hours which seems unlikely at best
