I think Grant Williams is a better player but I think we need to figure that his rights were held by a team that didn’t really want him, which will drive the price tag down
Starters in the NBA make $20 mil minimum on the FA market, signing Stew to this seems unspectacularly fine. It’s totally ok.
By the last year of Stewart’s contract, with the cap rising so much, it will be equivalent to making about $11 million this season (similar to Alec Burks).
No Ivey/Duren/Wiseman tonight. A lot more Ausar involvement and I really really like it so far
Speed and athleticism is ridiculous. Skies over people for boards. Threw a full court assist for an and one that was pinpoint accuracy stuff. Caught a lob alley oop and reversed it so effortlessly. His first step off the bounce is deadly.
I really think he can work on or off ball but longterm he seems too dynamic and unselfish not to get more of an on ball role
I don’t think I’m gonna buy the perimeter self creation for a while w Ausar but I’d already talked myself into the idea that that doesn’t matter. Already telling myself that Mini Giannis was a great call.
His rebounding is better than I thought and his ability to grab & go and toss hit a heads should let Ivey play a bit like he did at Purdue and didn’t last year
I just hope they give this guy some real PnR activity as a handler and don’t stick him in the corner while Ivey puts his head down and full speed bulldozes his way into traffic
Summer league competition caveat noted, but every time Ausar touches the ball he creates an advantage and it finds the open guy
