Duren hitting 3s :eyes:

Ausar’s passing is as advertised.

Edit: Sasser’s shooting is as advertised.
(Also Ausar in transition is going to be fun. He looks bigger than I expected as well.)

How is this team getting cooked with 2.5 starters on the floor at all times against a Magic team that with none?

Mostly because Jaden Ivey is 2 for 9 with 5 turnovers and refuses to pass the ball to literally anyone

He can’t be a good point guard in the half court.

Well he should probably be the Summer League PG.

He is chucking like a mad man. Ausar looks good but his teammates seemingly refuse to acknowledge he exists on the court.

They’re trying to get Ivey PG reps (ok fine) but that was a horrible selfish blinders on half from him. Dribbled the air out of the ball, couldn’t hit anything even though he shot more than Wiseman/Duren/Ausar combined.

I’m pretty sure Ausar genuinely touched the ball three times outside of his own doing with hustle play rebound/steals. Two times he had ridiculously nice assists for a wide open three and a dunk and the other time he missed a good-looking mid range jumper.

This is already conspiracyish but Ivey was a pretty melodramatic teammate at Purdue. It Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he views Ausar as a threat and it’s affecting his decision-making because he had three or four different plays in transition where if he just makes a simple up-court pass to Ausar it’s an uncontested dunk from a 3 on 1 situation and he passed to Sasser once instead and kept the ball every other time. Ugly stuff.

Already in his conspiracy theory bag. Let him cook :fire:

Ausar is gonna be such a good connecting piece if he’s next to a healthy Cade and three other starter level guys though. You can tell he is just wired to make the right play and is constantly creating advantages

Nice sequence for Ausar… steal, pass and hook finish

Good activity defensively

The whole point of SL is to give the few guys they care about more than they can eat just to see how they handle it

Not to win

I don’t think I really grokked that the Thompsons were such high BBIQ guys. Dunc’d On pods didn’t really hit that note. Think that bodes really well.

The Thompson’s know how to play

Their positives are as advertised

Yeah just heard some stuff throughout that season on grumpiness behind the scenes if he wasn’t getting the shots late in games. Visually pouty too sometimes.

One of those things where it wasn’t that big of a deal while it was happening but a Painter team centered around Ivey was never a perfect mesh from a basketball or a personality standpoint compared to when him and Trevion left.

Ausar’s decision making is awesome. Send your kids to Overtime Elite is what I’m gleaning from this.

Is Ivey simply refusing to pass Ausar the ball, what in the?

Jalen Dur…ant.

Not sure how sustainable that ā€œhookā€ is but this is a nice defensive play

Also, Black is impressive today
