Detroit Pistons & NBA Talk (Part 1)

Ausar gonna be wildly interesting on that team. Glad to see the Pistons get some of that upside.

Think this pick always made the most sense.

He’s an average sized wing, with above average athleticism, and a poor shooter.

I like that he can handle and pass and is intelligent but how is he going to score? Does he have a successful comparison in the NBA?

Sam Vecenie called him ā€˜a solidly above average athlete’.

I dunno, just feel like he’s a massive project that will take years to develop.

Given the rumored Jazz trade, I rather have the trade down to 9 plus 16 out of 5 and get Hendricks or Whitmore

Yeah, athleticism is the biggest pro in drafting him next to defense. We need both.

I wanted Whitmore but clearly a lot of teams saw something they didn’t like. Not ecstatic with the pick but nobody would have excited me after seeing the Whitmore slide

I think NBA are overthinking Whitmore. He’s gonna be a big time steal

Maybe. Athleticism and size intrigued me. But players slide for reasons. Sometimes bad reasons. But sometimes the NBA is right too

my understanding is that his AST% is a big red flag as is shooting. if he’s gonna be great, have to love the defense and teaching him the IQ stuff.

His USA FIBA is a much better tape than Nova. I’m willing to throw away his freshman year bc of how much of a shitshow Nova has been from what I’ve been hearing.

I would expect tape vs worse comp to look better?

He showed more passing and moving the ball around. He was the best player on the team. Not many 6’7ā€ 230 with that kind of explosiveness.

It’s bizarre he’s fallen out of the lottery completely. Everyone’s kneeslapping about low iq but something very odd is afoot.

I’m rooting for him to fall to 31 for the Pistons.

Prob time to wonder what you’re not seeing, not what teams could’ve possibly missed.
