Hi all. Sorry if there is a better place for this. My son is a newly minted freshman and is looking to get season tickets. They go on sale in 15 minutes at 10 am. My question is what he should do to try to get Maize Rage seats, or if that is even possible. If not - is there a way to try for good seats?
Nevermind - he already has secured a ticket and student tickets are all Maize Rage it seems! I’ll leave this here for information for others, but if it should be deleted I am fine with that.
Actually - this leads to another question. How does the student ticket claim system work? My son informed me that he has to claim tickets and fight for seats in the student section. I would have thought that purchasing a season ticket would give him access to every game. If anyone could enlighten me as to the process and how to game the system I’d be appreciative.
DMB son is in class now, but I told him needs to log in and answer these questions ASAP. It is his job!!
So students tickets went on sale today. Once buying the ticket pack, you’ve secured tickets to any/all games you’d like to attend. Later in October there will be a “claim period” where basically you check the boxes of the games you want tickets for assuming you purchased student tixs. There is a claim period for non-conference games and a separate one for conference games.
Once you get the tickets the seating is 100% first come, first serve. Show up early and get better seats. Once conference play starts, if you have enough priority points you’ll get a wristband and then placed in the wristband line while waiting in line. This wristband line gets let in first before the general admission line since they’ve shown they’ve gone to games and been active.
We’ve actually been trying to get a meeting room to have a Maize Rage meeting, but the availability has been killing us lol. Hope that helped!
If he payed the $185 then he’ll get tickets to all the games he wants! Shouldn’t have to worry about that. Regardless of class level, once you get tickets and the earlier you show up the better seats you get. There are no assigned seats
And to clarify, I’m pretty sure that the only games that have ever been 100% claimed are break games which have reduced capacity (including MSU games). His son shouldn’t worry about being able to go to any game he wants.
Thanks for all the info! I will pass it on.
LMK if you get a Maize Rage meeting scheduled and I’ll try to get my son involved!
