That is true. It’d have to be dueling PGs by Brooks and DDJ I think.
This prompts an interesting general question. As far as handles, who would be the best five on this year’s team? Once we get past X and DDJ, it’s really cloudy to me. Yes, natural positions notwithstanding (guards will inherently be better, etc.). X, DDJ, Brooks, then who? Franz? I don’t have many on the list of “glad he’s out there when the other team has a full court press.”
I’m trying to put in context with last year’s team. Seems like there were more capable handlers, especially with forwards. Revisionist history on my part?
Livers has somewhat weak handles, but I feel like he’s been pretty smart this year when facing a press and doesn’t get himself into situations where he has to dribble in traffic.
The idea of pairing DDJ with a ball-dominant wing scorer like Josh Christopher is OMFG. I agree there’s not much evidence for DDJ being a true lead guard, but he’s a guy that needs to be out there with that green light of his. For now the bench scorer role is just perfect. It may be that next year and the year after too, I don’t know. But that’s what he is now and as long as you tie minutes to defensive effort he’ll be a fantastic player to have in a month’s time and will bail us out of a few jams the rest of the way, just like he did in the first half Saturday. Get that kid more minutes and shots, please.
I feel like Bajema would be on this list. I’m assuming we’re not counting the walk ons? .
Yeah, that makes sense. No, I was just thinking of players that realistically could see the floor during vital game minutes.
I think we’ll disagree on this one as well. Eli has been great for us but he often seems so rushed I don’t think the results with him at the helm would be better than Dave.
Those are the same people that are constantly clamoring for the head coach to be fired or the starting quarterback to be replaced. Fans are the worst, I’m telling you(definitely not a fan myself )
Cool to see Boehiem give praise to Mac. I’ve been following him out of curiosity since he blew up on Youtube and he’s really played well the past few games since the stuff with the other players came out. Guess he’s not going to be spending his time at Georgetown on the bench.
This will not help UNC turn it around and improve our resume.

Pretty good time for a knee surgery.
Yeah, they’ll likely get destroyed by the Zags but then probably will be favored in every other game.
Get well soon, Cole!
Definitely fortunate from the standpoint of no Duke, Louisville, UVA. The problem might be that they’ll probably lose those games anyways even with Cole. This could mean that they will lose some games that they wouldn’t have otherwise. Without Cole, this is not a very good team.
Most productive tweet I’ve read from Rothstein in some time.
Anyone who may be a little luke warm on the hire of Juwan, something to make you feel better: watch Providence play
Anyone who’s lukewarm on the Juwan hire at this stage ain’t wrapped too tight. And that could be ad hom!
Creighton looking good early versus Oklahoma. Pretty please keep winning! And then there’s Providence…losing by 20, about to fall to 6-6. That Ed Cooley offense
One of Brian Snow’s ed Cooley posts during the search
“Again, this is FWIW. But if you ask Big East coaches, they will tell you Ed is a better X and O guy than he is a recruiter. Now granted his teams have just crapped the bed in the NCAA Tournament, somewhat inexplicably at times, there is no denying that. However, he has tremendous respect in college coaching for his X’s and O’s and the job he does coaching in-game.”
Cooley must write some nice Christmas cards
Cooley has nude photos of Brian Snow is my best interpretation of that.
The whole Ed Cooley thing just struck me as so strange. It just struck me as leverage to get paid and he did. Providence is stuck with him for a while now.
