College Basketball Open Discussion

The teams don’t administer the tests themselves, it’s done by a third party.

I also assume that most teams will only test vaccinated players if they become symptomatic.

And I don’t think one positive is gonna throw everything off like it used to. If there is a positive, they will likely test everyone, but anyone vaccinated won’t be pulled out because of contact tracing. So assuming you have enough players to play you are supposed to play.

Yep. That’s the second part of the equation.

I hope it doesn’t get hairy. I just want to watch a normal college basketball season. I know that’s not taking the bigger picture into account but I honestly don’t care anymore. I’m not going to live or die on the wins and losses, but I would like to be able to watch a normal season.

However it works out that respects the health and wellbeing of the players is fine with me. It’s a bonus if I myself could actually go to any games.

Lots of ways to reclass these days through the more aggressive academic plans that exist and online schools, a ton of kids now enter their senior years of high school already qualified for ncaa minimums. I also don’t buy that with guys like duren and bates this was a sudden decision where they are scrambling to get them qualified. They were prodigies and likely had aggressive academic plans put together when they were young so that they would have the reclass option.

What’s total BS about this is that I was most certainly NOT a prodigy but my parents did not put in place an aggressive academic plan to ensure I could stay a student for longer.

If Michigan plays Kansas in the tournament this year it could involve Kobe Bufkin guarding JCL who is 7 years his elder. 7 years!

JCL, who is still in college, is only 10 years younger than LeBron James, who is the third oldest player in the NBA

JCL is closer in age to Blake Griffin and James Harden than he is to Kobe Bufkin

all for the scheduling component of this, way to many soft ads and coaches, so the more big time matchups that are forced the better

I’d love a yearly basketball scheduling alliance with the ACC. Put all the games in the same week. Sounds Challenging but I bet they can make it work

Something wild I was thinking that probably would not be possible but a 40 team non conference type tournament with b1g,acc and pac 12 would be pretty awesome. Base it on the previous years standings and have games until final four at home sites. Then rotate the final four between nyc,Vegas,Indy etc. You could even nix the conference tournaments and do this instead. I am sure it’d bring some serious tv dollars.

Btw those commissioners were an embarrassment today, sankey and the sec have to be laughing.

I didn’t see anything yet. But my bar of expectations couldn’t be much lower for Kevin Warren…
