Brey might be able to coach but the talent he’s bringing in has dropped off a cliff. Think he’s probably pretty close to done being great at this level.
It was a flippant comment, I admit, though he’s also the highest branch on the sport’s ugliest coaching tree.
Not only soccer, but European sports leagues in general function this way. But this is also a big reason why their clubs regularly drown in debt. Teams overspend in the fear of relegation, rather than properly rebuild. (And if they are relegated, their TV revenues collapse and they usually conduct a fire sale.)
Memphis is must-see TV this year
I want the whole student section to chant “Ball Don’t Lie” on missed free throws.
“BAG DON’T LIE!” (Is a complete sentence FFS)
Admissions Department Don’t Lie … Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.
My fav Rasheedism occurred in 2004 Finals when reporter was waxing poetically about Lakers comeback in game 2 and what Piston’s state of mind was for game 3, of what would be the first 5 game sweep in NBA history. Rasheed was succinct; “we ain’t scared of those cats”
LSU going with the Loyola Marymount strategy
As the parent of two kids in high school, I’m flabberghasted as to how these kids are finishing 1+ years early and enrolling ahead of time. Crazy.
With online schooling, you can work a lot of “miracles” credit-wise…
Would a GED and ACT/SAT scores get you there?
But when is “early” for 2021? Isn’t normal enrollment for 2021 right now?
My thoughts exactly, AC! I’ll be more blunt, it really isn’t possible in many/most cases, so I don’t know what goes on!
When my son was a senior in high school, right after he had signed his letter of intent, I literally went to the school counselling office to be sure he had every credit he need in the “core” subjects so he would meet the requirements of what then was the NCAA Clearinghouse! Either standards have changed drastically or something “funny” is going on.
Graduating early is something lots of kids do these days. I know high schoolers that basically just take college credits their last year. I don’t know how it works but it’s prevalent not just in athletes
Interesting. Somehow, he has all the credits he needs, they’re going to “graduate” him from high school , and he’ going to be on campus taking classes in September so he can be eligible for basketball this semester. Unless he’s brilliant and has four years worth of credits in three years with all the core classes the NCAA says he has to have, I just don’t know how it’s possible!
Now, I will say, I once had a golfer who graduated from high school with 50 college credits but he truly was/is brilliant.
It’s not possible. Not legitimately. But this is LSU we’re talking about. Where there’s a Will, there’s a way.
Sounds suspicious doesn’t it? Maybe some schools don’t care about grades or entrance requirements.
I see what you did there
Some kids were held back to give them time to mature physically. Happens in other sports as well. So maybe he’s just going back to his original class.
