why in the heck did Abdur-Rahim transfer there?
what a curious buffet
Yeah, but each team has their own kind of intrigue. Top tier teams (Bama and KU) solid mid-majors (Dayton, Belmont), teams coming off NCAA success (Drake, N Texas) and Pitino.
Yep, a walk on, completely unranked coming out of high school.
I think Crean is a goner. Wow that might be the worst HM team I’ve ever seen. I feel bad for Jabri
This is probably going to be 2 separate 4 team tournaments and then 1 “on campus” game with Hight major vs mid major
First Overtime signings…
This will be fascinating. I mean OTE is offering 6 figures plus training, board and food. That’s a heck of a thing for a high schooler. No idea if they’ll make money or not but I suppose their internet following is big enough they’ll make money regardless
Yeah, I am really curious to see how Overtime Elite plays out.
The blend of “influencer house” and basketball academy feels like a slippery slope, but maybe it works.
Not Michigan related but yet another “pro route” coaches are going to have to deal with
Thanks for posting. Just curious, where’s revenue stream to support the salaries?
Who will be their opponents on the court? International pro clubs?
Themselves. I think they’re trying to have 4 teams or so
Prep schools? Pro teams? Scrimmages?
I think you’ll see a big effort over the next few years to consolidate some of the prep school and elite HS scene similar to EYBL. Maybe they have a team in one of those leagues? Who knows.
So they would need 60 initial signings with a 50% turnover each year
Thanks for the post
Was wondering about this, too. Logistics, infrastructure, sustaining. . . all pretty interesting, maybe daunting.
Don’t need 15 per team if they’re all just living and practicing together. Could have as few as 8.
Having said that I could be wrong. I thought I had read that’s one here but can’t find it anywhere
