Also, the “culture” mashup Porter Moser referred to at the end of the clip, for anyone who hasn’t seen it…

Woodson lands Diabate and Jett’s teammate, Tamar Bates. Pretty big get.

With Chet’s commitment, the drop from Torvik’s #1 projected offense (Gonzaga, 123.4) to #2 (UCLA, 115.8) is larger than the drop from #2 to #54.

Does Jaylen Blakes committing to Duke move them to #1?

Not quite. Just short.

Interesting pickup by Duke not the typical “Duke caliber” player they usual sign. Unless he’s an extreme under recruited guy I can’t imagine he doesn’t get recruited over every year.

I’m thinking Baldwin to Duke will jump them to 1. If he was going to Milwaukee, seems crazy that he hasn’t committed yet.

Baldwin to Duke would indeed put them over the top on the composite. But that is not allowed. He is required by me to commit to Milwaukee. So it’s all good

Could be the next Goldwire, not that Goldwire was particularly good.

So how does it feel now that you’ve officially shifted gears from giving reverse predictions to handing down decrees?

I’ll let you know when Baldwin inevitably commits to Duke

MSU at #4 seems way too optimistic considering how last season has gone but they’ll be better than last year for sure. Shooting is still an issue and we don’t know if Walker is going to do well as an up-transfer plus there’s C issue with PG depth issue.

The optimism seems to come from the conga line of processed players leaving East Lansing and the apparent normalization of the roster with the incoming freshmen and the lack of worst-case options among the returning players for the coaching staff to select.

Oh, and Izzo himself, I suppose.

I think a protected seed is a very safe prediction for MSU unless Walker is completely incompetent at the B1G level

That was a real good USC team 2 pros that were/have played over 10 years in Gibson and Young. Gabe Pruitt was a solid player as well. Four of their players were ranked within in the top 89 of their recruiting class (RSCI). It’s not like Texas lost to a bunch of bums.

To me, MSU still have shooting issues. They’re going to rely on Walker, Akins and Christie to supply that but they’re backcourt players and two of them are true freshmen. We’ll see though. I think Winston and Tillman covered a lot of issues on both side of the court with Winston on offense and Tillman on defense.

They obviously need to find consistent production from the 4/5 spot, but I think we’ll see heavier minutes from Gabe Brown. I view that as a plus for them. The backcourt seems to be in much better shape though, compared to last season. As nauseous as it makes me feel to say…MSU will be a top 6 B1G team without question.

(I know top 6 isn’t up to Izzo standards, but there were certain roster scenarios in which this year could have been dicey, even with Christie)
