Really is crazy how obviously bad of a decision it was. Passed up the opportunity to play for a better team, with a much greater brand that would be playing in front of more eyeballs, in a more defined role that was dependent on him with significantly better team spacing.
I’d agree that Josh isn’t necessarily a bad kid… But the stated reason why he went to ASU was so that he could be a brand that would transcend the school. If that’s the priority, that is going to make it way more difficult to fit into a winning team effectively.
But is that the stated reason? (Asking.) I thought that it was something quite down-to-earth and sincere, even foregoing a certain stardom and limelight: he wanted to play with his brother close to home. I mean, did he ever explicitly say anything like that? Maybe he did, I just don’t know.
The players do, yes. It’s highly unlikely Virginia can’t come up with five guys who can test negative for a week.
If you’re testing daily which at this point everyone has to, then you should be able to catch it early enough. Gotta send everyone into quarantine the second you get the positive test but it’s doable.
I say we go “designated survivor” mode and leave a couple key guys in the hotel along with the scout team. Make sure we have 5 that can play next week.
IIRC it wasn’t specifically that. His dad talked about it, but he himself never said anything more specific than ``this is the right place for me’’ or some other broad language.
How come? This seems mostly like an ACC/stat of North Carolina problem at this point. A couple dozen conference tournaments have gone on without a hitch.
So I thought for the tournament they were trying to not have teams be disqualified because of one positive. Is this just precautionary for conference tournaments?
Ugh! I think I asked earlier in the season, but can punishments or penalties be imposed retroactively by league officials when things like this get overlooked in games?
