College Basketball Open Discussion

I think that a more confident Franz and Isaiah stretch the floor and make Mike look better, too. The pieces do seem to be there, but while we have obviously been the more talented squad in each of our encounters so far this year, we have often been less than the sum of our parts, thus far.

I do have some faith that playing lots of guys pays off now, but I hope that Juwan is giving a starting five or six lots of run together in practice in the brief interregnum now.

If I recall correctly (and it feels like ages ago), there were transcript hiccups with Hyland that led to that situation being a non-starter.

Now that you say that, I believe you are correct. Too bad.

Indeed. If I recall correctly from 247, the lost time at school screwed up his transcripts. It was made very clear that he was a bright kid, just that the missed time made Michigan an impossibility.

Looking at BQ’s Q&A, MSU fans are obsessed with Hoggard and Sissoko getting more playing time. Not really sure I understand why.

Because–as you know–what we imagine is always better than what we actually have. Think Jon Horford.

Have you already forgotten the Cole Bajema drama? The “back-up quarterback” syndrome is alive and well for fans of most/all teams.

Thats great and all, but they already play too many guys. Why would they want to add 2 more to the mix?

Cissoko was the guy Moving Screen podcast expected to be starting eventually at 5. Not sure he even got a mention in most-recent pod?

One of my top 10 games (maybe top 5) of the Beilein era. Everyone seemed infatuated by that VCU style, and they were a popular pick to advance to the sweet 16. Then, Michigan happened…

This game was an absolute blast to be at. Michigan ran them out of the gym. The Palace was rocking

Upon rewatch I of course remembered McGary’s 3/4 court bullet, but I had forgotten he laid down maybe the two hardest screens I’ve ever seen. I guess as a 16 year old kid at the time I probably didn’t have the same appreciation for those that I do now.

FWIW on the NC State game (which really can’t be rescheduled legally) but here’s Kevin Keatts:

NCSU is playing at St Louis this weekend… with 9 guys.

Cole is not doing much for Washington. 5 minutes and 0 points in their last outing.

Yet he could have fixed everything for Michigan’s depth and shooting last year of Juwan just put him in the game. :face_with_monocle::wink:

Why did this happen now? Why not 2 months ago?

I was also there! Fun time. Believe it was grouped with MSU-Memphis

Toledo in OT trying to close out what would be a solid road win at Marshall, after coughing up a 10-point lead with 4:00 left in regulation.
