I think that a more confident Franz and Isaiah stretch the floor and make Mike look better, too. The pieces do seem to be there, but while we have obviously been the more talented squad in each of our encounters so far this year, we have often been less than the sum of our parts, thus far.
I do have some faith that playing lots of guys pays off now, but I hope that Juwan is giving a starting five or six lots of run together in practice in the brief interregnum now.
Indeed. If I recall correctly from 247, the lost time at school screwed up his transcripts. It was made very clear that he was a bright kid, just that the missed time made Michigan an impossibility.
One of my top 10 games (maybe top 5) of the Beilein era. Everyone seemed infatuated by that VCU style, and they were a popular pick to advance to the sweet 16. Then, Michigan happened…
Upon rewatch I of course remembered McGary’s 3/4 court bullet, but I had forgotten he laid down maybe the two hardest screens I’ve ever seen. I guess as a 16 year old kid at the time I probably didn’t have the same appreciation for those that I do now.
