If someone wants to sponsor the site for enough money, they can name it whatever they want.

So the Big 12 is just going full sell out? Private equity and selling off their name? So forward thinking of them

I mean itā€™s literally 3 million dollars per year per school at most. That can not possibly be worth it

What if itā€™s The Big Ten Conference, brought to you by UMHoops.com? Then your membership value would be at an all time high

Iā€™ll talk to my CEO. As a summer intern he should be easy to get in touch with. I just hope he knows ball

As a man of Georgetown, Iā€™m completely indifferent. Program is more broken than Ryan Day

Need a vibe check now that the off-season has settled:

Mark Pope will beā€¦

  • Good, upper echelon SEC team and true natty contenders ~2 times a decade
  • Bad, he misses tourneys and has a shorter lived tenure
  • Mid, how are you gonna fire Cal for Mark Pope??
  • Great, he will elevate the program to perennial natty contenders
  • Okay, but not good enough for Kentucky

If he gets a long enough leash, he will have some random seasons where they are contenders. It is Kentucky and they will still bring in talent. But the question will be how much patience they have for him if they arenā€™t immediately contenders in the first couple years.

I initially voted for ā€œGood, upper echelon SEC with a couple contending teams in a decadeā€ but I changed my answer after deciding that I donā€™t think the fanbase will have the patience to give him that decade of runway.

What in the world is going on out there? Suddenly BYU is a recruiting powerhouse

Pretty clearly have a big bag to operate with (this seems to apply to most new coaches across the sport). In this particular case, Tim Fanning is on staff at BYU and was a coach at OTE from 2021-24.
