Man, if only hit could have hit a few more of those shots he would have averaged like 6.5 ppg
Kowalczyk would be a great hire. Plus, he spells his name “Tod”, which I think is cool.
Offense has always been good with Toledo. Defense, not so much. Regular season success for a mid major coach is way more indicative of a quality coach than tourney success IMO. Four conference titles, three straight when there was significant turnover from the top part of the roster is very impressive. If he had just made the tourney one time, I think he’d be looking at jobs better than Charlotte
UCLA and Arizona collecting all of the international recruits.
So basically business as usual!
Not sure that’s true. Also Toledo is right next door
A couple notable names for us
Toledo would make a lot of sense for Saddi if they want him.
Oh man…not saddi. Only guy I think to follow him would be phat phat right?
Phat phat is not going to Toledo over Michigan because of Saddi unfortunately
Wow big reversal here
This one is wild.
Yetna was in the 2017 HS class.
- Redshirted 2017-18
- Played as a RS FR in 2018-19
- Missed the 2019-20 season due to injury
- Played the COVID year (RS So) in 2020-21 at USF
- Transferred to Seton Hall and played 30 games in 2021-22
- Missed the entire 2022-23 season due to injury
- Now apparently has one more year.
He’ll be 26 when the season starts.
WVU wants everyone
That is a uhhh… downgrade from their previous candidates. wonder why Tod and the other guy backed out?
Jeremy Fears got cut fwiw
Is this the same thing Caleb/Chet/Kenny Lofton/Mike Miles etc played in in summer 2021?
Yep, same event. U19 World Cup.
Yeah U19 is interesting cause it is a mix of HSers and rising freshman and younger rising sophomores. usually good for IDing some young CBB talent that might not be known yet (like Mike Miles and Lofton)
Boswell making it likely makes Zona fans feel good
At PG the guys that beat out Fears would be Boswell and Armstrong, both sophomores. And then some rising HS senior studs in Harper and Jackson at guard as well. So the team ranges from HS seniors to college sophomores. Any guy that makes it that’s still in HS is probably going to be a first round pick.
Interestingly, the 2021 team had a lot of guys that ended up not quite living up to HS billing. Kennedy Chandler, Peyton Watson, Patrick Baldwin, Harrison Ingram. But it was also the Jaden Ivey coming out party.
The 2019 team was stacked with HS stars that became lotto picks. 8 first round picks on the team, mostly lotto. Including Cunningham, Mobley, Jalen Green, plus Tyrese Haliburton.
It’s a fun tournament to follow for basketball fans
Yeah it was Mike Miles coming out to a degree
Yeah ultimately the fact that Ingram/Watson/PBJ were so outshined by others probably should have meant something at the time.
But on the flip side, that tournament got Caleb Furst a lot of hype and he hasn’t quite cashed that out.
