Gregorius Gardenhire has earned my begrudging respect at least. Mike White is the worst basketball coach in the country. Heās so bad that my jinx doesnāt even work on him. If he were anyone else I would have made him a 3x national champ by now

Yeah. Heād have an objectively better resume than White when hired. Thatās a pretty big program, so I feel like they could make a big splash, but I feel like Holtmannās agent should be putting out feelers.
I now need to know how White even got that job. His resume was terrible for a school like Florida. What the heck was going on there?

My take is that, while the Florida-Georgia football rivalry is gigantic and is the Worldās Biggest Cocktail Party, the basketball version is two guys sitting in a bar and occasionally glancing at the Florida-Georgia basketball game on a television.
As for hiring Holtmann, yes, that would be strange, but let me throw out a hypothetical: We lose our coach really late - i.e. when Beilein took the Cavalier job. Would you hire one of our ābitter rivalā coaches (Underwood, Gard, Holtmann, etc.) if they were available and willing to come?
But yes, this does seem like a weird move. Maybe he knows heās in hot water at Florida? Thatās all Iāve got.
