Maryland tanking for the #1 pick?
Georgetown has it locked up.
Another team showing on ball screens 25 feet form the basket on Hoggard
Memphis is gonna upset #6 Houston on the road without Emoni. Time for the #PennyPush into the tourney
Didn’t Kessler grow since Michigan last recruited him? He looks a taller and longer than I remembered seeing him coming out of HS. He is a monster at Auburn.
Watching the CBS halftime show of Maryland and Purdue game, had no idea Providence was having such a good season. 21-2 and on the board as a projected two seed? Wtf is going on?
They’ve won a lot of extremely close games. Check any of Ken Pomeroy’s tweets and you will find 2-10 Providence fans replying to him and voicing their displeasure with his ranking system and even going so far as to attempt to get him to admit his automated math equation is wrong.
They also have 7 seniors, 5 of which are super COVID seniors so possibly part of the explanation for being able to grind out close games.
Really flexing their muscles.
Yeah 48th in Kenpom. Gotta be one of the biggest outliers in terms of Kempom rating and W-L record in history. I see see Torvil projects them to end up as a 5 seed. They’re gonna be the hottest upset pick whatever seed line they end up on.
I would be happy matching up with Providence in the first or second round, but probably too early to speculate
I would be happy to matchup with anyone in the first round. Got some work to do
My first thought when I saw them as a projected two seed was please let us be the 10 seed in their bracket.
Every 7 or 10 seed will be hoping for the providence matchup, but there’s a handful of week protected seeds this year imo. Wisconsin and Providence are very lowly rated by predictive metrics, and Houston established a lot of their resume before losing multiple starters for the year.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year”
Tight response
Interesting insight from an anonymous AAC coach re: Memphis…
“Yeah they got some guys back who were hurt, but the reason they’re winning is because they lost Emoni Bates. Let’s not get it twisted. They’re not catering to anybody or grooming anybody to play point guard. It’s all about winning for them now. I’d be shocked if he comes back.
I assume these Kansas uniforms are some sort of relevant throw back? They look hideous and more like practice uniforms than what Michigan wore after the plane crash. Throwback jerseys work much better in other sports than basketball.
They also work best when throwing back less than 100 years.
I don’t think Jumpman got the proportions of the 89 shorts right when Michigan wore them in 2019, but that’s still my base case and I’d love to see them try again.
Have to say I enjoyed John Calipari’s cameo on Billions the other day. Terrific coach but also great at selling a brand.
