Cleveland Cavaliers hire John Beilein

News like… hmmm, I can’t think of any notable news regarding Beilein lately. You’re right, this thread should be barren.

I’m not sure why you really really want to fight with anyone for anything. There are definitely ways to discuss this news that don’t redound to just insulting posters on the board.

You’re right. Of course this would be more notable if the former wasn’t exactly what was happening in the first place. Again, it’s pretty amazing to me that anyone could get annoyed that the Beilein thread has a discussion about the recent Beilein news.

Beilein’s actions and how they are covered are news and worth discussing. You grinding an axe against bacon because he disagrees with you isn’t one.

We’re literally having a discussion lmao. I don’t think either of us took anything personally. There wasn’t anything even approaching a personal attack or insult. Like… I’m curious as to if you’re reading the posts from a month ago given how baffling this assertion is.

I sincerely apologize if you took an opinion personally.

I’m out. I’m sure you’ll find another person to be mad online at.

I’m sure you’ll find another thread to complain about a discussion in. :man_shrugging:

Still confused as hell as to how you can take this stuff so personally though.

The Cavs went out and beat the Nuggets in Denver last night. Denver was 15-4 at home, prior to the game.

Fire Beilein!!!

I wanted to see him get to 300 wins at Michigan. That would have been a nice milestone. He has the school record anyway, but 278 doesn’t seem like that much for a program with our history. Oh well.

JB is getting an asset for close to nothing it looks like.

Dre has never been a problem for coaches or other players. Cleveland is hoping (and this is the only thing I can think of for why Cleveland would want to make this trade) Dre opts in on his contract this summer - I know he said he wanted to test FA, but that could easily have been a bluff - so they can trade him for assets in the summer or next year. I thought the Pistons could have gotten more than a second rounder (Knight and Henson are on expiring contracts, so they’re just throwaways). Think it would have been worth the risk of losing him for nothing just to see if he’d opt in and work out a better trade in the summer. Oh well.

My bad. For some reason I was thinking he had some maturity issues. I will delete my previous post

It was an Al Avila-level return on this deal for Stefanski.

Drummond is hardly much of an asset

It’s disappointing, but I don’t think it’s all that bad. If HSers are allowed back in the draft in 2023, this pick would have around the same value as a late first rounder would this year (assuming the Cavs are still really bad, which is a good bet), which I would have been fairly happy with.

Like I said earlier, I think it would have been worth the risk of him walking in the summer to see if he was bluffing about not wanting to opt in. I don’t think he’s getting 28 million on the open market.

Haha i can accept that. I dont view Henson or Knight as much of anything at this point

It looks like the 2nd round pick is with the condition that it will be the worse of the Cavs two picks.
