Smith is dealin’
Great job holding on the penultimate possession to get a 2 for 1.
Have him read Mein Kampf?
Brace for 25+ foul second half
This take aged well…
A big issue is that we keep playing him with Davis too. Johns can attack from the perimeter against other 4s/5s when the paint is clear. With Davis there is a lot of traffic in the point and he turns it over when he drives.
So pumped for BJJ and the rest of the bench right now.
One thing that I’ve noticed that I really appreciate about Juwan (hopefully it’s intentional), is the awareness to always try to make it a 2-for-1 scenario before half.
Usually we’ll go quick to make it a 2-for-1 opportunity, but today, we actually dragged out the second-last possession of the half which is unusual, and then followed up by playing a soft press so that Maryland couldn’t go two for one the other way. Really paid off.
Smith putting us on his back at the end of the half there. I hope Liver’s is ok… did someone say he was limping?
Maryland is shooting 65% overall and 55% from 3 and are somehow still losing this game. That has to be incredibly frustrating.
Bad timing I know lol
They shot 62 percent and 50 percent from three. And are losing. That’s gotta be deflating.
73%eFG!?!?!?! Dear lord. Maryland really can’t be playing much better, and we are still in the lead. Crazy.
Also Smith seemed really pumped up running off the court there. Are we playing with enough intensity now?
John’s better come in at the 5 before Davis next half
What’s the BTT single game assist record? Smith with 9! in the first half.
Need Johns in there against the stretch 4/5…I think that is clear
Mike Smith: 6 points and 9 assists with 0 turnovers.
Responsible for 11 of Michigan’s 16 first half buckets.
I am obsessed with this fact
Honestly I wasn’t terribly worried when we fell behind by single digits. I’ve seen Maryland blow so many big leads, including a 14 pt lead down the stretch against PSU that may or may not have cost me a huge ml parlay. And they were hitting so many shots it couldn’t keep up. Proud of Smith, Johns, Davis and Brown for their exceptional play.
