Big Ten Roster Movement 2015

JB not expecting any attrition other than Max and potentially Caris. So we know Wagner is taking Bielfeldt’s spot at this point, question remains whether Caris leaves and another scholly opens for Brown.

He is already on a timeline, the NBA deadline. Stop it!

Hopefully Caris decides soon, regardless of what his decision is. I’d hate to be in a position where we lose LeVert after Brown commits elsewhere.

I think its getting to the point where JB is going to have to put Caris on a timeline…can’t afford to get caught with the pants down again. No more excuses from that standpoint, he’s been around the block enough at this point.

Correction, now that Layman and Trimble are back, Maryland no doubt is the conference favorite.

Trimble, Layman, Stone, and that transfer from Georgia Tech that’s built like a truck.
Plus they look strong for the Drexel 5th year.

Another Top 10 season for Maryland. They’ve got to me loving the Big 10 right now haha

I think Trimble is fantastic. But they won so many close games this year, I wonder if they regress a little bit. They didn’t have much besides those two and Wells this year. Stone coming in is big, but it can take a while for the big man to be as good as he should be.

I still think they fight for the top of the conference, but I wonder if they have what it takes to win it.

Maryland is no Nebraska but I have to wonder if after have a dark horse kind of year they take a slight step back like Nebraska last year to this.

I’d make the Terps the favorite on paper, but Dez Wells was their heart and soul and made a ton of plays at crunch time. Losing Smotrycz, OTOH, is a plus.

Indiana should be highly ranked in the preseason but Tom Crean will find a way to underachieve.

Wisconsin's Sam Dekker will enter the 2015 NBA Draft, per release.

…no Dekker, Kaminksy, Gasser, Jackson, Dukan

Be interesting to see how Bo does this year. He’s finished Top 4 in the Big 10 all 14 years.

Still has some nice pieces in Hayes and Koenig…not sure thats enough to get em into the tourney though.

Wisconsin always finds a way to sneak into the tourney and I don’t think next year will be any different. But they do look weaker on paper than they have in a long time.

Swanigan to MSU. Izzo is loaded again for another big run.

Bright side: Cross Cal off the list for Jaylen Brown.
Down side: MSU is LOADED. Should be preseason top 5 in my opinion.

Seemed everyone had Swanigan pegged to Cal but big surprise. Great get for Izzo and MSU. A lot of folks thought that MSU might be in a little trouble after missing out on so many top recruits but as this year’s run showed and their incoming class, MSU will always be a power as long as Izzo is there. He’s that good. They are going to be really good year as are Maryland and Indiana. I would definitely put us behind those three but I think we are in the next tier for sure.

I’m as bummed as anyone about Swanigan, but let’s not get carried away.

Biggest pickup for MSU in a while IMO.

I can see them starting off slowly and coming on strong at the end.

It’s not too outrageous…top 10 at worst. 2 mcdonalds all America bigs + a proven scorer in Eron Harris (18 a game at West Virginia) + Valentine in his senior year (which i suspect is an all big ten type player) + final four experience from this year. They’re pretty loaded. I see Maryland/MSU as the class of the B1G

They’ll start out top 10 or something. Under achieve get like a 6 seed and then make a run in the tournament and everyone will say how great izzo is. That’s what happened this year. That was a top 15 team preseason that was on the bubble until the lsat two weeks of the season and didn’t have any injuries all year. They were ranked 2nd in the country preseason in back to back years a few years ago too and went into the tourney as a 6 seed and 10 seed i believe. THey were #2 last year preseason…at least they had an excuse with the injury to Payne.
