Big Ten Discussion

Definitely possible!

The conversation is not, at this stage, going to yield a whole lot more fruit. But just to try to address the logic here: for me the point is that players Beilein chose, when the right circumstances finally arose, often thrived. So the innate ability that Brooks might still possess would not be irrelevant. Agree that in Howard’s system that possible talent might or might not be revealed.

I think I’m agreeing with you, but to state it differently…given the common thread is going from Beilein to another coach (as Eli is doing), I’d argue they are quite important to include in the data set.

You mean except for the two annual transfers of guys who don’t crack the rotation. (Not an insult of Beilein at all)

Yeah, I was just saying that you just don’t want to rule Beilein guys out. But I don’t think it came close to two a year, did it?

He dunked in a game last season.

I looked it up. Against PSU. Just forgot about it.

You’ll never live this down.

I’m very upset. Reconsidering my whole life now. I think I’m going to pack up the family, move to a new place, and start all over.

So disappointed in myself.

Have to confess that for me Eli has become a bit of a cause celebre like Jordan Poole or DJ Wilson–not a big personal thing or venomous, but when I hear enough people doubt or malign a kid I always start hoping they’re gonna go wild and prove everyone wrong. I see zero reason why in a third year that kid isn’t gonna contribute more heavily, esp. since Michigan is going to need him.

I really want him to prove my doubts wrong. I like the kid. I just have my doubts that he’s a starting 2 at the B1G level.

Let’s take the heat of Brooks…I think Austin Davis will be a revelation under Howard. Heard he can dunk too. If Austin can get 8 and 8 a game!!!

Heck, four and four would be sweet.

I think most of the criticism here, though not all, of Brooks has been completely in bounds, I think it’s fair to note when guys just don’t play very well, he hasnt. I hope like you that he changes that.

C’mon, his performance has been mixed. Stellar splits on D, mediocre on O.

He’s been bad but at times he created nice looks, he just you know missed them badly. With all these eli talk it’s going to be very interesting to see what he does from here on out.

Some MSU talk here on the pod… Will do a Michigan one of these coming up soon.
