That’s asking an awful lot lol
2019 Purdue is 2018 MSU, minus the NBA lotto guys. Play the weakest schedule and scrape by game after game.
I don’t think their schedule is any easier than anyone else’s. Especially ours.
They just haven’t dropped bad games like Michigan and MSU have and have 2 OT wins and another 1 possession win.
Actually you’re right. I just glanced at their schedule. I was thinking they had single-plays against MSU and Maryland but they don’t.
Still annoying that they keep escaping though…
MSU outscored Big Ten teams by 15.5 points per 100 possessions last year. Purdue is under 10.
That’s a pretty big difference.
Coming into today’s game he was shooting 38.9% on twos and 31.1% from three in league play. Those are now down to 38.6% and 29.8%. That’s total garbage. And it’s not like he’s having to do everything, causing his effectiveness to drop. He’s simply choosing to take terrible shot after terrible shot. It’s a testament to his teammates that Purdue is 13-3 in conference.
Purdue will end the season 3-3 versus the top 5 in the conference. Michigan is 3–1 with 3 games to go. So not an enormous difference in schedule, but the title is gonna come down to one game.
Out of all the top tier teams Purdue scares me the least in the BTT. I think they are a great matchup for Michigan.
I’m hoping after tomorrow these numbers change a bit in our favor!
I’m seriously thinking he doesn’t deserve being 1st team all B1G.
If he’s POY that’s a complete injustice. His stats are really horrible lately.
Yeah, I’m tired of hearing announcers breathlessly praise him whilst taking contested 28-footers with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. It’s a joke.
The idea that he has to play great all the time for them to win is a complete fallacy.
He “hunts” horrible shots. PULL…!!!
I think Ethan Happ is hopelessly flawed, as well. A guy who’s on the bench down the stretch in tight games, c’mon. . . If we win out I think it should be X.
You think X should be Big Ten Player of the year? Or 1st team all-conference?
Yes. If MSU wins I think it should be Winston. Guess it depends a little on the criteria–is it about the most valuable player, or the player who flat out excelled most fully?
I’m less intimate with the conference and its players than a lot of posters here, but I struggle to think who really fills the bill. What do you think? I’m biased against Happ, having watched Teske play him to at least a standstill.
I totally get the importance of X to the team and if Michigan won the conference then I think there’s a fair argument for him to be the Michigan representative on the all-conference team.
I think the Player of the Year should go to the best player in the league, and even in my most homerish moments, I don’t think X is close to Happ or Winston in that argument. Also think it’s hard to argue he is more valuable to Michigan than Happ is to Wisconsin or Winston to MSU…those teams are nowhere close in talent to what X is surrounded with IMO.
It’s interesting that the whole conference really doesn’t have a transcendent, next-level talent.
By “escaping”, do you mean winning?
I see that Mama Trice made the trip to Evanston. #annoyingscreech
