Big Ten Discussion

24-10.

Wisconsin +2 (-120) at Iowa.

Not that it really matters, but it is 8 days, as referenced above. Also, these picks man…

Nebraska plays on Jan 22nd, Jan 24th, Jan 27th and Jan 29th. That’s 7 days right?

22nd and 29th are both Mondays, so that’s technically 8 days. Also, https://twitter.com/CoachMiles/status/955185410589822976

As I count them on my fingers it’s definitely 8 days

Oof yeah. Everyone referring to Michigan’s stretch as 4 games in 8 days threw me off. That should be 9 then.

Yeah. Nebraska, Minnesota and Illinois are the 3 teams that play 4 games in 8 days.

Michigan, Indiana, MSU, OSU and Northwestern have at least one stretch of 4 games in 9 days.

So if you’re Nebraska, I guess you flew back to Lincoln last night after the game, go to class today on little sleep and then fly to Piscataway tonight/tomorrow morning? That’s tough.

Straight to Rutgers I assume. Similar to Minnesota last week.

Makes sense from an athletic standpoint but means three days of missed class. Ah the Big Ten, thinking always about the “student” part of student-athlete…

Minnesota missed a whole week last week: Saturday home game then flying to PSU, then Maryland then NYC.

Jeez - at least the football players have the opportunity to attend their classes

They missed the whole first week of classes. My wife (works in the athletic department as a coach) was shocked when I told her they weren’t flying back.

Looks like I was too high on Wisconsin… Brutal offensive showing against the worst defense in the Big Ten.

24-11. Not sure I’ve been that far off on a game in a while.

Ugly games tonight… Nebraska (-1) at Rutgers, Indiana (+2) at Illinois… Nebraska, Indiana and Illinois are all on short turnarounds. Maybe under bets all around? Pretty gross.

Wiscy just seems so over-matched at every spot on the floor besides Happ.

This was a poorly played game by Wisconsin…the ball just wouldn’t go in the basket. They missed multiple bunnies and layups…some nights are like that. The coach was really hard on Happ…sat him for a few minutes. It didn’t help!

Wiscy is 0-6 in quadrant one games, 3-11 in quadrant one, two, and three games, and 7-0 in quadrant four games.

They’re ranked 89th on kenpom with the 95th O and 99th D.

They still seem like a tough team to play in the Kohl Center, and they’ve been unlucky in close games this year. Maybe they’ll turn it around. But at some point we may have to accept that they’re just not that good this year.

Wisconsin’s bad. They have also been without 3 of their top 8 players in minutes per game since conference play started and 4 of their top 10. They probably wouldn’t be a tournament team if Trice, King, Reuvers and VanVliet were active but they would certainly be more competitive
