He brought in a big freshman class last year. And next year he has his first top 100 recruit coming in.
Heās predictable if nothing else. Lol
Ohio St got the Zach Edey experience.
Kevin Kugler probably gave him that idea when he said OSU probably wished they had Sensabaugh and Key available against MSU. That might have been the worst broadcast BTN produced.
Osu run is over good. No nit bid either.
Can we trust Purdue in brackets? I feel like no one in the country respects them so there might be value there.
I like a lot of the big 12 teams this year but I feel like anytime I ride any team not named Baylor or Kansas I get burned.
Texas in particular has made me pay constantly and theyāve seduced me again. I like TCU and Texas a lot actually.
Someone is gonna try pressing them for longer than 3 minutes and Iād be interested to see how that goes.
I donāt love them but they will be a trendy upset pick. Edey is the most dominate player in the country and a lot of teams lack the big men the big ten has to body with him.
Could be interesting
Someone asked yesterday: would you take Michiganās season or OSUās? As agonizing as it was, Iād take ours. We at least will finish above .500 and will get a postseason invite.
If youāre an OSU fan, youāve got to be wondering what on earth happened in January and February.
Iād say you can trust Purdue just as much as any of the other top teams this year which is not very much. To me, the pressure thatās going to hit them on the second weekend is immense and I donāt expect them to break through to the F4.
Is there a team in the field of 68 that runs a full-time press?
OSU can and likely will get an NIT bid
Marquette, Iowa State, maybe VCU, maybe UCLA just looking at dTO%
While the NIT removed the .500 requirement, I donāt think a 16-19 team gets chosen when there are a bunch of autobids and much better MM and HM choices.
I donāt know everything that goes into NIT selection, but OSU is a top 50 kenpom/ NET team with a massive tv draw. Who has been left out that is comparable? Last year K State was the best under 500 team, but not as good as OSU this year.
Edit: thereās probably 20+ NIT at large bids, and OSU canāt be much worse than the 10th best team to miss the big dance. I wonder how Oklahoma at 15-17 looks to the NIT
Would love to see PSU upset IU, but to me IU and Purdue are the two best B1G teams. Would not be so surprising if after all of these nominal upsets, those two vie for the trophy. Guess Iām not saying anything surprising here, especially now, but I also wouldnāt be surprised if IU beat PU. When they are really clicking, they look to me like a team that could play deep into the NCAAs. Theyāre a more complete team than PU.
EDIT: So far, this comment is aging nicely!
Purdue is all about matchups. With the right draw they could go to the final four or lose to the 8/9
You make a fair point about their advanced metrics.
I just realized PSU is now #1 in experience per KenPomās metric. Might be the record forever
To draw what foul?
