There’s a world where Rutgers backs in with a loss (if most of Nevada, Oklahoma State, UNC, Penn State, and Arizona State lose early in their conference tournaments and there are no bid thieves). There is no world where Wisconsin backs in.
Yeah Rutgers is much more likely to stay in with a loss and Wisconsin (and of course Michigan). Probably Penn State too but it’s closer
Some people still have Rutgers as relatively safe
Edit: on second thought I just realized they are the 2nd to last team in on the matrix
I mean I’m in no way surprised that the Big Ten Network is talking up a Big Ten team’s resume but it hate hearing them talk up Wisconsin after that.
Are there still no concessions in the arena?
Only to Izzo and Fran when they act up.
The concession workers are on strike. It was a somewhat big story here in Chicago over the weekend
Exactly. This could be bad for fans and the conference
I was hoping they’d hammer out a deal. It’s kind of ridiculous that they would have a tournament where people might theoretically spend 12 hours at the arena when most of the concession workers are not working
Webber was talking about how Wiscy played in the second should help them with the committee? What? The way they played in the first half should absolutely kill them, and they DID lose the game. Their net is 74, and whether Webber likes the net or not, the committee uses it. The way they finished the season was not tournament worthy. I’d be surprised if they get in.
Have they ever done this for Michigan, in anything?
They aren’t getting in but BTN had to fill a 15 minute segment somehow.
They generally hype whatever team they are talking about.
Alright, my daughter got pressed into service as goalie on her university’s inaugural lacrosse team and they lost 19-zip tonight! Whee! Been sitting here waiting for her to report in; now I can settle back and enjoy hoops. Says she loves the game!
Truly my biggest regret of 2023 so far is how many Wisconsin basketball games I have watched. It’s early to be thinking about what I regret, but here I am.
I leave every single one pissed about something. For instance, the Wahl banked in 3 made me sigh.
I think they’re in no sarcasm. No bad losses except Wake, some real good road wins. I don’t think a bubble team has a better win than at Marquette. Just a feeling on my part.
6-12 record since Jan. 7? Wow.
I know they officially don’t take how you finished into consideration, but in this case they’ve been bad for two-thirds of the season.
Hard to watch Nebraska at the BTT without picturing Hoiberg in 2020 looking like he was a super spreader on the bench
My gosh, that was something. To me that really hit home that this was uncharted territory we were in. I know he had the flu but right at the start of the pandemic with so many unknowns, that whole scene was just nuts.
Don’t think they are close. The criteria to make the tourney isn’t “who has the best single win”.
Their NET is gonna kill them. They’re the reverse of Rutgers last year who were bad in noncon then had huge wins in conference. I think their recent form keeps them out though. The committee secretly cares about that
