Big Ten Basketball 2022-23 Discussion

Why? Wins at Illinois or Indiana would more than cancel this out. And if Michigan loses both, we won’t be in the conversation to have a bid for someone to take anyways

I want to avoid them in the Big Ten tournament.

does this result hurt Wisconsin?

Who has a bunch of thumbs and is in sole possession of second place in the B1G?

Lol we are the only remaining team contending for splitting a B1G title with Purdue. As we all expected

I’d laugh at this banner every time I walked into Crisler if we manage to hang it.

if Bufkin doesn’t commit that 4pt foul at Iowa…

PSU maybe moves *even with us. Not a huge deal since we have to move up anyway

I missed the PSU game so maybe that’s why everyone else has so much more PSU fear. I’m not scared of them at all

Michigan could now finish anywhere from tied for first place or 9th. Crazy

It was Jett vs Penn State for 15 minutes, then Penn State vs no one for the next 25. Good times.

Will this be the first time in program history we raise 3 banners in one season?

And this would give us an Iowa / MSU rematch that will go multiple overtimes with multiple 90% deltas in win expectancy with Izzo and Fran doing an elongated silent stare down at each other right before the winner has to play us.

We’ll have fresher legs

fwiw Torvik (yeah yeah) is very stinky on PSU. they’re still out even with a 2-0 finish AND a win in the BTT

Please, just anything but the 8/9 game. As someone who’s been to the tournament every year for the last 5+, I’m so sick of the 8/9 11am slot.

If we win a game we will not be in that game

Gumbon3laya the Guru has penn state ahead of us and said we need maryland to beat them (which we know is not going to happen).

So playing around with this tiebreaker scenario. I went with current results, Michigan beating Illinois and chalk afterwards. Michigan has a 6th seed which is fine but there would be 5 way tie at 12-8. Why is a tiebreaker between Rutgers-Michigan for 5-6 seed the record against the #1 seed Purdue instead of just head to head which Michigan would get a 5 seed. Not saying a 6th seed isn’t a better path but it makes very little sense.

Michigan beating Indiana with chalk turns out that Michigan gets a 3 seed instead of Michigan beating Illinois and chalk. So it would be better for Michigan to lose tomorrow and beat IU on Sunday???

Michigan wins final 2 games: guaranteed 2 seed

Beat Illinois and lose to IU: most likely a double bye as a 4 seed UNLESS Maryland beats PSU and Iowa beats Nebraska. If this happens, then we’re the 5 seed if Northwestern beats Rutgers or the 6 seed if Rutgers beats Northwestern (also assuming Rutgers beats Minn tonight).

Lose to Illinois and beat IU: Guaranteed double bye. Most likely a 3 seed, but the 2 seed if Nebraska beats Iowa. Couldn’t find any scenarios where we’d be a 4 seed or below here.

Lose final 2 games: Seems that the 7 seed would be most likely. Only way I could get Michigan in the 8-9 game is if 2 of Maryland, Northwestern, and Illinois won on Sunday.
