OSU is a team that has a look of “season’s over” in their play and body language.
I’m a naysayer when the fire a coach chants start–particularly those that have had success. But Holtzmann can’t afforf these kind of embarrassing losses.
I can’t get over that OSU was favored. They haven’t even been able to beat Minnesota or Nebraska during this skid. I guess in the end, the oddsmakers just look at KP?
holtmann going be begging for the nd job
Might be the most damning thing I’ve heard about Holtmann.
Have to imagine Holtmann is looking for a soft landing. Between Jay Wright last week and now Izzo, having the coaching community circling the wagons for him isn’t great for his outlook.
Mike DeCourcy with the studio hit to emphasize how Northwestern has to get the ball to anyone other than Chase Audige immediately before Audige takes over the game.
Nailed it.
Can the Cats do it?
They just might…
Purdue’s young guys playing like our young guys down the stretch.
Northwestern beats #1
Imagine losing to Northwestern
This is definitely a time where storming the court makes sense.
B10 as a conference is 3rd nationally in turnover rate. Purdue’s good, but is fortunate they’re in a conference where teams generally don’t force TO’s.
Really good point. Kept seeing how hard and aggressively they were doubling Edey and I was thinking how we can’t/won’t be able to replicate that stretegy.
I have to face it. I like Chris Collins. And given how much I hated him at Duke thats quite a concession.
It’s what Northwestern does and it is why U-M turned it over so often in the first game. Makes them a really ideal matchup to trap/double the post since it is fundamental to their DNA.
I tend to think it is more that the league doesn’t have teams that turn it over and not that there aren’t teams that can turn you over. It generally hasn’t been a great strategy in the conference but working for NW this year.
Northwestern 9-3 against Big Ten teams that aren’t Michigan is so wild
I really like Purdue and they are a great team and a threat in March. But today shows why relying on freshman guards is so scary. Both of them were shook in the last 5 minutes.
