Feels like that should have been an offensive foul on Hall but no way refs were gonna call another foul on msu
Problem with all refs. If you move one muscle after a pump fake, other than instantly dribbling, refs are primed and ready to blow the whistle.
@buckets12 guy Paul Mulcahy just cooking Malik Hall down the stretch here.
The number of players just outwardly grimacing in pain is impressive.
Itâs LIT in here at the garden. Rutgers fanbase bringing it
I was wondering why MSU wasnât getting blown out then I realized itâs not actually at the RAC
Is Rutgers intentionally fouling Sissoko on these screens? Almost feels like it but I wouldnât think so. Either way, it is not the worst move, especially the first one when it was the single bonus.
Now MSU intentionally fouling McConnell with almost two minutes left.
I checked the score and it was MSU by 8 partway into the second. Now itâs Rutgers by 6. What happened?
This game will last another 25 minutes.
This would be a prime âTom Izzo eats his own liverâ tag on MGoBlog
A 2.5 hour clown show
Mulcahy became undeniable at the rim, and McConnell absolutely junked MSUâs entire offense
the eternal question i have about MSU (granted this is the first game of theirs iâve watched this year): why doesnât tyson walker do that more often
Maybe Iâm missing something⌠The fouling early hasnât really helped MSU⌠they needed stops? Announcers seem off base, but they also seem to have never seen a ball screen be iced or pushed to the side before.
Izzo does like to foul early but this doesnât seem like some kind of revolutionary strategy when stops would have been more effective.
Izzo has done this
There was a game in the Beilein era where they were down like 10 with 3 minutes left and just started fouling
What I donât get is that the last three guys they sent to the line are 82%, 90%, 90% ft shooters
Why even bother then
Like itâs one thing in theory but theory needs to adopt to on court reality at some point
Dan Bonner (I think itâs him) is a buffoon.
They were down 6 ⌠started fouling and then even got some key scores but were still ⌠down 6. They should have played defense instead of fouling McConnell IMO.
Several times this year I have been very confused by some late-game moves by MSU. The burning the clock during the boat game was the craziest.
but dylan, what you donât understand is when youâre down 6 with a minute-plus left, what you really want is to be down 8 without the ball with 30 seconds left
Especially odd that they fouled early in a low-scoring, defensive game.
What the heck was Simpson even thinking
Izzoâs trying to juice the pace, which we know from the Iowa game is more important than the score
